Just saw the interview with Tom Watson and they asked im about the putt on 18. He said he read it with 3" break and pushed it to about 8" but "as luck wold have it it went in"

I wonder, if all golfers were so honest how much we'd really learn about what was great and what was lucky?

My favourite golfer in the whole world. The Open will be much poorer for me when he stops playing....luckily doesn't look like any time soon.

he should be absolutely clearing up on the seniors tour! fair play to the man!

Drove past me in a buggy on Wednesday at the Open. Never even clocked him! He sat and waited until the public moved on before driving off again.
Unassuming true gentleman, no airs or graces, just a true gentleman.

I missed the end of the coverage
Did he make the cut? I think the last I saw of him was on 16 and he was borderline at the time.
I'm there tomorrow and would love to see him!

class guy and a natural. I met (stood beside) him and Nicklaus at the bar at Royal Troon when the Open was there, ordered my drink and turned to have them both standing beside me, didnt know what to say that they probably havent heard a zillion times already, so sat down but their chat was relaxed, informal and came across as 2 thoroughly nice blokes.
Delighted he's made the cut:thup:

What are you gentlemen drinking would have been a good opening gambit ;)

I agree, he is a legend.

I like Tour pros that are great role models to young and old golfers alike. Ernie, Lee, Luke, Phil, Freddy, to name a few are also in this class.
