Losing weight/fitness thread

I've committed to a personal trainer, with 6 weeks to go until our charity tandem ride, aiming to drop 10kg.

Known the trainer for a while and it's a complete three month plan including diet.

Paid upfront, so see if I get past the first day.
10kg in 6 weeks seems a bit extreme. You may be suffering a bit come the bike ride.

Really good workout today. Feel like my dumbbell sessions are starting to pay off now. Slowly increasing weight or working to full reps more. Included a few kettlebell exercises to try help my back and knee. Feel good Sunday

More crazy CrossFit shenanigans this morning. Sets of deadlifts/burpees alternating 21/15/9/9/15/21 (90 total) followed by a 1.5 mile run. Time limit of 37 minutes. Did it in 37.10 and seriously thought I was going to puke.

Not great at rest days but taking one tomorrow!

If the target was 5, I'd probably do 3, so it's 10  plus, at the price he charges, he needs a bit of a result to justify.

I've started way too late, so the only thing going to get me through the challenge is attitude. That'll drag whatever else doesn't work to the finish line.

Had one of those runs just now where somehow I've set out to do my usual 7 miler but I've walked in the house having done 5.8 instead. Just couldn't get going.

I've watched The Masters coverage every night until the final putt has dropped, so it probably that. I'm strictly an 8 hour a night man.

5.8 miles is still a cracking run, I feel you get more out of the run when it’s a struggle, one thing is guaranteed during the longer ones is that you are going to have moments, the runs that are a struggle build resilience 😀

I must be almost Steve Cram now then, they're all a wonderful struggle.

100%. Sleep is really underrated as an enhancement to performance. Or the opposite without enough of it.

Yes, I think this is the main element that's affecting me and has done for years. I'd love to sleep 8 hours a night. Never happens!

I'm off this week. Stayed up to watch the golf so went to bed around 1ish. Was wide awake at 6:45..

I've stopped having caffeine after midday and it does seem to be helping a bit. Worth trying if you have coffee/coke etc.

My last coffee is around 11am when I'm working and don't really drink fizzy pop. I tend to wake up, think about really random things and be unable to drop back off.

Similar. I've downloaded some sleep app noise things but not actually tried them...must do that!

Wife has bought a blood pressure machine (because hers is high at the moment). I used it and got 118/73 and a pulse rate of 49. The numbers of an athlete! Nice. 😂
