Wife and I been celebrating, went out for dinner 2 nights running child free

Dad took me out for lunch

Starting nights Friday

Have been playing lots of golf tho

It's about minimising anything you think may be a problem. Like on the days you've gone out for a meal. Have a smaller lunch and breakfast. Make sure you up your steps that day.

Yeah I did that yesterday, mum wanted to take me for lunch so I had jacket potato and salad knowing I was going out for dinner with the wife

Had been 9 holes with my dad aswell so that got the steps up
 
10 miles in 90 mins. Sub 2 hours is right there I think. I do 5k in 25mins.

Probably helped by the fact someone shouted something out their window as they drove past, so I sped up to see if they wanted to say it again. Luckily for me I wasn't quick enough 🤣

I recall something similar in a race many years ago. The car had to stop at lights not much further along. Another runner squirted Lucozade through the open window...

How did you feel at the end of the 10 miles? If you felt good and could carry on, you’re easily smash 2 hours imo

Not loads left if I'm honest but that was probably because I knew it was a 10 miler, so would've saved a bit for the last 3 if I was doing the half. But then I wouldn't have done the 10 as quickly as I did. Think I've got a free weekend next week so I might give it a go.

I think some of that would 100% be psychological as it's the end of the pre-set distance. I bet you could have kept going, and possibly at that pace too. Give it a go!

Know exactly what you mean, I'm puffing the same when I finish a 4 miler as I am when I do a 10. Just knowing it's the end makes me tired. Weird innit.

In my opinion, 3 miles is a lot to save, I could only up my pace slightly in the last 0.5mile, even then it was hard.
Really do think a nice constant pace is key, then give everything you’ve got for the last part to get your time.
You’ll definitely do it under 2 😎👍🏻
 
Weights yesterday afternoon.

Smith Machine Bench Press - 4 Sets
Incline Dumbbell Bench Press - 4 Sets
Rope Tricep Pull-down - 4 Sets
Close Grip Smith Machine Bench Press - 3 Sets

Run last night

3.9 miles in 40 mins, Pouring rain and blowing a hoolie 😂😂
 
Gym this morning as I woke up stupidly early!! Great session but feeling really restricted with my back and left hip/top of my groin. Starting to really annoy me now. Doing pilates, stretches at home and in the gym, gym work and it's still tight/sore. Probably need another session with the chiropractor and going to see if I can see the doctor, possibly to try get some physio and maybe an x-ray on my hip (which was recommended by the physio I had through work). So annoying!!
