Losing weight/fitness thread

Guest pass at a different gym today. Just did a 35 minute dumbbell/machine workout and 25 minute swim. Massive place, fancy changing rooms/showers but felt a little soulless. Same machines as my gym but £60 more per month. Only advantage was the pool which is nice.

Good week this week despite my annoying back/hip, gym 4 times and eaten well although we did have a few too many drinks last night!

Did my first spin yesterday, that is some kind of torture. The insides of my knees where in agony, not too sure how I managed the 45 minutes 🫠
Then a strength class this morning, main lift was squats for 12 reps. Got to 70kg for two sets of 12, could have gone heavier but decided not too

Waking up in your 40's is basically a game of which part of my body doesn't work properly roulette isn't it!! 🤣🤣

Woke up Saturday morning, took my daughter to work, parked up at home and walked from the car into the house. Suddenly my knee was shot! It's possibly from trying to do a bit of light jogging on the treadmill on Thursday. What a joke getting old.

Beats the alternative :)

Great fun at my Crossfit Gymnastics club this morning. Lots of ring work. Working up to ring muscle ups - fat chance but fun trying. Then Skin The Cat which I could do and bloody loved. Like being a kid again turning upside down and hanging there like a monkey!

Prepping for the 10k at the end of the month, trying to run it once a week, 61m01s today, over 2m better than previous - I need to run a slightly quicker pace for the 1st 5km as the km with the hills slows me down, I have plenty left in the tank at the end so confident I can break the 60m barrier.

The gymnastics challenge with the other dads is well underway, its really hard as stuff I've never done, and need to lose a bit of weight and get much stronger as my handstand is terrible! Lots of fun though and will hopefully raise some money for good causes.

Just when I think CrossFit can't get any tougher. Today's "Hero" session. 40 minutes for time. 4 rounds. 800m run, 49 push ups, 49 sit ups, 49 squats. Whaaaaaaaaaaaat?!

Anyhoo. Press ups on a box so that helped somewhat. Not really run in years due to heel issues so well chuffed to not get asked to reduce the reps as my time was ok. Managed 3 full sets and a final 500m run in the 40 minute time window.

Knackered now. Bit of a shaky shop at Lidl afterwards!

Weights tonight

Shoulder Press Machine - 3 Sets
Close Grip Row - 5 Sets
Lat Pulldown - 3 Sets
Single Handle Lat Rows - 4 Sets
Bent Bar Tricep Pulldown - 3 Sets to failure
EZ Bar Bicep Curl - 3 Sets to failure

Last 2 were super sets to failure.

Ended up been a great workout, trying to get back on track after a mixed last 14 days.

Went to the gym this afternoon. Don't normally go at this time, got to the door and it was locked so used my app to open the door, which was weird. Went to get changed and the changing rooms were locked. Apparently all changing rooms locked after 3pm on a weekend!! Thought I'll get changed in the toilets but they were busy so went home 🤣😂

Try again tomorrow!
