Guys, I have a question. It's for a friend...

my friend is getting really dry skin at the minute on his hands, especially when playing golf. So much so there can be blood by the 18th.

I, erm, I mean he uses hand cream but are there any out there that don't take an age to soak in that can be used during the round?

I (er, a friend!) has the same problem at certain times of the year. Though it's generally weather dependent.

What I (doh) he does is nick some of his wifes, slaps it on before he leaves for his round. Then reapplies when he gets back home again. If it's really bad. It really does need to be applied everyday, apparently!! This then stops the problem before it's too late. But like most men I(he) always leaves it until it's too late!!

I and I am happy to say ME ;) have a tube of Neutragena Norwegian Formula hand cream in the car and it works wonders on dry hands. I would also say you see your doctor as bleeding hands after a round of golf sounds like more than dry skin. Am thinking it could be contact dermatitis or excema.

I suffered this problem at the start of the year where certain parts of my right hand would crack. I have just about cleared it up by using antisceptic cream rubbed in evry night and through the day. They dont crack anymore and the dry patches have almost gone

Thanks Ian, think I am goign to try the antiseptic suggestion 1st as I have some (free) then if that fails the Norewigan stuff Andra suggested.

If I am still suffering I will sell the wife and try the Hand Salve.

Cheers all, erm, from my mate, obviously ;)

When I worked in the building trade, many, many ,many years ago. I used to suffer from cracked/dry hands from cement I think.
An old guy swore by "snowfire" it comes in a small tub and is available at chemists.
I have to say that I have never used any product that has been so good at doing what it states.
I have a tub that I keep in the medicine box at all times
