His attitude to that might change pretty quickly. It's not the fines he has/had an issue with - said he'd pay them immediately but wouldn't sign up to playing 2 extra events dictated to by the tour.

I can’t stand TGL but to use that argument knowing LIV created a tour and got players through lining the pockets to the sum of multi millions of dollars of “some” top players means your argument loses any credibility.
For me, it's forever tainted. Seeing the true colours of heroes I respected growing up (Westwood, Poults, Garcia) has really left a sour taste for me personally. I also don't like the format and find the brazen defending of LIV by all involved to be akin to Republicans blindly defending Donald TrumpHere's a different angle on the speculation - if somehow they did manage to carry on without PIF (don't debate it, just go with it for a moment).
There are a number of people, maybe even a few on here, who just wouldn't/couldn't move past the Saudi piece (& I can understand that POV). Plenty on wider social media, of the view 'won't ever watch with Saudi behind it'.
If that goes away, do you think some of those might be more open minded? Or would it be forever tainted?
Someone might answer first hand perhaps.
PS, no need to go over other reasons might not watch - have been round that on here ad infinitum!
You really are pedantic aren’t you! Slate TGL for paying millions as to players but LIV does it and it’s getting the best players to play and it’s “where’s the argument”. Defend one slate another but not admit both have done the same so your points about attracting players or slating TGL have zero credibility. What argument?

But you do you pal, keep those blinkers on![]()
Just wondering are you my ex wife in disguise. She doesn’t like being told her point has no credibility and turning into someone else’s faultPedantic?
You do realise you're the guy that took issue with my view and not the other way round.
With the teams being worth billions. The answer must be to sell them and pool the money with additional sponsorship to keep the lights on?

I said TGL was boring and giving money to millionaires has no interest for me. You complained TGL could only attract people doing such a thing. I pointed out to you that LIV did the same thing to attract players so your defence of LiV in that regard(which is often) has no credibility. Where’s the pedantry from my side, I’ve been balanced and said they did the same thing, I’ve also never defended LIV for doing so like you have. I don’t take issue with your view your entitled to your opinion but put it in a forum expect people to pull you on it especially when you’re so unbalanced in your views!
Think you and everyone gets where I’m going with this. But like I said keep your blinkers on we all know you admit anything that means you have to speak against LIV
Anyways there’s more important things to do today than go round in circles like watch some proper golf on TV right now![]()
I'm almost certain it was sarcastic.Genuine question. Was this a sarcastic comment and you left the smilies off?
I can see relatively minimal revenue from merchandising, potential advertising and content sponsorship if it continues, but relative to cost base... no chance.
What have I missed?
Wow you do know how to make yourself seem like you have a point even when you don’t. Nobody said you can’t see TGL as rubbish but you lose any credibility stating it’s about money when you claim LIV isn’t.I see. I’ve got it now.
I cant have the view that TGL is rubbish and was created to give players money because LIV players were given money.
Makes total sense![]()

TGL is garbage but to twist your way out of admitting LIV did the same thing by throwing millions at people to get them to play might be your best joke yet.
Surprised you ever manage the grip a golf club whilst you already have your hands full clutching at so many straws.
Enjoy your day Mel I’m off to talk to the cat he makes more sense than you pal![]()
Hmm “it’s about growing the game”, “it brings so many younger people to the game”, how many posts in this thread is there of you defending LIV and the Bloody hundreds. But let’s not get caught up in that shall we. Mate the cat isn’t confusing he doesn’t twist points like you to try and stay relevant!Yeah.
Point me to the bit where I said LIV wasn’t about the money…
Maybe you’re getting confused with something the cat said![]()

A bit over-the-top. You're talking about three players who were well past the peak of their powers, being offered more money than they've ever earned before to knock a little white ball around - for 3 days instead of 4 as well (initially). It was an absolute no-brainer for them to take it, I would have as well. For me, it's forever tainted. I will enjoy the downfall as much as they all did it's uprising, peacocking about with their smugness and how they're doing it for the love and growth of the game, and looking down on the PGA Tour like it was some concentration camp holding them hostage for so long.
Yes it was.
I wasn't clear - I don't blame them for taking the pay day at all - it's more the way they've died on the LIV Hill - defending it like a MAGA would defend their Sex Offender President....even in the last few days I've seen posts from them both quoting reports of LIV being up a creek and them laughing it off and name calling because these reporters don't know what they're talking about. They've become insufferable weapons, akin to boomers who will claim they had it harder than youngsters today because interest rates were 16% (yea, on house that was 10x less than the cost todayA bit over-the-top. Let’s not forget they are employees of LIV and what they say to the media is tightly controlled.I wasn't clear - I don't blame them for taking the pay day at all - it's more the way they've died on the LIV Hill - defending it like a MAGA would defend their Sex Offender President....even in the last few days I've seen posts from them both quoting reports of LIV being up a creek and them laughing it off and name calling because these reporters don't know what they're talking about. (I still do find it baffling that Rahm took the pay day - in the prime of his career - but that's another story.
EDIT: Consequently, they've (Poults and Westwood) have been super quiet since the report came out yesterday from the WSJ and FT.....wonder why.
I won't disagree too much, but I would point out that Poulter and Westwood have always had that combative nature about them - it's just that previously you saw them as 'our own' perhaps so it wasn't as bad? Probably a really good analogy, that!I won't disagree too much, but I would point out that Poulter and Westwood have always had that combative nature about them - it's just that previously you saw them as 'our own' perhaps so it wasn't as bad? Like the-house footballer who plays for your club?
And I won't defend Garcia at all, don't like him at all anyway for obvious reasons.
