Interesting comments on the Chipping Forecast pod today re viewing figures. Apparently Valero Texas Open with a mediocre field got 1.75 million in the US on NBC, Liv on Fox main channel with a stellar leaderboard got 485k.

Nice of them to add an extra million viewers to the PGA Tour numbers!!

Also, most of the big-name Americans quickly falling out of contention might have lost LIV a few viewers in the US. Would have been interesting to see the numbers if Dechambeau, Johnson, Reed and Mickelson hadn't all bombed out early.
Similarly, Harman plodding away against a star-deficient chasing pack likely lost the PGA Tour some viewers. No doubt if would have been different if Spieth, Fowler, Finau, etc. had been up there.

Maybe they’re being paid by LiV too. What is it they say, no such thing as bad press. Has to be two sides to the argument to keep it going

Although Liv would have been obviously wanting Bryson to win going into the last round, I dont think they will be too disappointed with their Masters showing.

Half of their 12 players made the cut and 5 finished in the top 15.

Again it will come down to each persons preparation

Some players on other tours don’t play for two weeks before a major

There was a LIV event recently so they would be as sharp as anyone else

there might be some though that are struggling when moving into Majors from LIV
