Length off the tee - would you like to hit it 20yds further?

Would you take an extra 20yds?

To be honest if I got given another 20yds I wouldn't know what to do with it :(...

I hit it how far I hit it and though thats not too far these days I know where I am at with my game...

Having said that on the occasions I do hit one "off the screws" it does put a bounce in my step whilst walking up to take my next shot :D:D...

And depending on circumstances being in the first cut may not necessarily be a bad thing.
We have a couple of holes where, due to the angle of the dogleg, it's better to be in the first cut right on the angle than in the middle of the fairway - about 40 yards shorter shot to the green.

As long as this extra 20 yards keeps the ball in play, I can't understand anyone saying no - unless they're Steve.....

Spot on Ian, anyone who says they wouldnt take a little extra distance, either have real issues with their driving that another 20 yards would exaggerate or else they are in denial.

What isnt 320 enough for you Nelson?

hi,,i voted yes as a medium hitter ,,but at the minute i would proffer 20% of a new driver hopefully the one i will be getting fitted for in about 3 months not sure witch one yet .

hopefully the one i buy will have that 20yds extra built into it (wishful thinking)

In my opinion (like bums, everyone has one) forget carry, course conditions etc, if you hit the following distances in average then these are applicable
.0-220 short.
220-250 med
250+ long.
300+ MASSIVE!!! propah long!!!

Woop Woop I might make it into the long category then :whoo:

If there was a driver out there, that would guarantee me hitting 250+ every time I would buy it,I can hit it 220 and pretty straight so another 20 yards would be just fine..

Is it just me or when James asks a leading question are you waiting for a S&T agenda to be introduced ??

To be fair I always put S&T in the title if I'm posting about it, and normally end up talking about it when a thread gets taken off topic by someone else........... it being YOU this time LMAO!!! :D;)

No agenda just wondering who'd say no to more length. Personally I hit it far enough and if I could plop it on the fairway every time or guarantee a centered hit off the sweetspot I'd take that over distance. If I was to be equally as wild as now then I'd take the length.. only problem would be I'd have to wait even longer for the people in front to be out of the way :(

It's a bit of a nonsense breaking it down into driving distance categories JO.

It doesn't matter how long (or short) peoples drives are, they are only going to vote yes or know. You will only get a very rough indication of the split between long, medium and short hitters. So far it seems that about 50% of respondents feel they are medium length - not that a greater proportion of medium length hitters want to hit it 20 yds further.

:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Pants, it was a ploy (sssh!...don't tell anyone) people are more inclined to vote when they have a choice especially when they can rank their ability higher ;)

I'm only interested in the overall figure and so far it's 36 YES vs 7 NO.

Like I said... keep it under yer hat
