Ladies British Open.

When you've got good looking women like Creamer & Gulbis wearing what they do its pretty obvious men are going to comment on it.

On Saturday Paula Creamer was wearing a very short pair of blue shorts. The girl is also fortunate enough to have a nice pair of pins and clearly enjoys maximising fresh air around them and showing them off. It is not sexist or demeaning to make those observations. She is also a very, very good golfer.

I was watching intently, as I had a few quid e/w on Suzann Pettersen. :D

She picked a fine day to have a cold putter. :(
She hits a good ball though, and has a cracking swing.

Regarding putting at St Andrews, I had a putt from the front of the green on 14 which failed to reach the top of a mound be a few inches, and then proceeded to finish twenty yards away on the other side of the green. The greens are incredibly difficult if you are on the wrong side of the pin, and are one of its main diffences (along with the pot bunkers and the wind)

I really enjoy watching the women play, as I can relate to the distances they hit the ball. Only gripe is they do seem to take a long time to play a shot. This may have something to do with the fact that a lot of the players had not played St Andrews before, and it takes a lot of getting used to.

One of the best, and most objective, posts I have read on here in a while.
To say that women's golf is like club golf is a bit arrogant. In fact, there are a number of laides at my club that I would love to have the ability of. Having been drawn with our current ladies champ (off +2) in a mixed medal where she joined us on the white tees, I was amazed at how easily she worked her way round the course picking it to pieces.
My wife plays off 3 and is far better than many club golfers will ever be yet is not even in the same proximity of good as these ladies.

Went on saturday but saw heehaw golf due to the wind, it was just a mild Zephyr as we'd played in the morning when the wind was at its strongest, we met a lot of the players who were wandering about and sitting in the Dunvagen Hotel totally different culture to the mens tour and a credit to the sport, couldn't imagine Tiger doing that

Still remember my Eagle 'putt' from 80 yards, skirting most of the roly-poly mounds on the right, that finished 4 inches from the hole!

6 months experience of buried elephants at Craigielaw certainly helped picking lines. It's just the huge distances of some putts at StA and, as you state, the consequence of being slightly off line - not something that shos up ell on TV!
