Knockout entry requirements

Thanks all for your replies.

The purpose of the exercise was really to see what the consensus was on here before I make a recommendation to our committee. I think reducing it to 3 qualifiers (C handicap) sounds a sensible idea.

Only restrictions are that they must have a "c" Handicap

Same as, no restrictions, you just have to have a 'c' handicap.

Why?
If people are going to cheat and be bandits then no amount of playing comps will make any difference.
TBH things like these kinda rules just put people of, members should have the choice of playing whenever they want, they lay their membership just the same as everyone else. If they don't want to play qualifiers but play knockouts, that should be their choice.for I get them to play 6 qualifiers to be allowed to play in a knockout tournament serves no real purpose IMO.

I agree with this, but, we have a very small number of members that you never see at weekends in any medals or qualifiers but we always see them play at those weekends in pairs, team knockouts and all comps of that nature and are always (mainly) in the prizes, so it's not the weekends that are an issue as they manage to get to the club when it suits🤔

So, whilst I don't agree with any kind of restrictions as you should have the freedom of choice as a full member as to when you choose to play and in what comps and formats, if it's deemed that this is being abused then something I think needs to be put in place as clearly the knockout comps just being on a weekend isn't the issue and it could be construed that it's being taken advantage of by individuals or groups of them with inaccurate handicaps due to the lack or minimum of qualifiers being played.
