Kevin Pieterson

Will he play for England again? What has he done wrong exactly except batted poorly for a few tests? Freedom of speech obviously does not apply in the England changing room

And yet he was still the top run scorer during the last Ashes series. It wasn't just him that wasn't in the best form. He was actually the best of a bad bunch in that series.

I met him once. He took the word thick to new and uncharted levels.

I've never been his biggest fan but it's not like he's being paid to be a lecturer in astrophysics. But as thick as he might be he is pretty good at swinging a piece of wood at a spherical piece of leather.

Apparently took the 'disruptive influence in the Dressing Room' to new highs (lows!)!

Though new ODI Captain Eoin Morgan doesn't seem to believe he is, so there may be some 'hope'!

This ship has sailed. He has spent the last 4 months slagging off England players, coaches and management. This was done in his book, tv and the press. Why would they want him back after that? If he was treated so badly by all these people why would he want to come back? England have moved on, he needs to. He also needs to shut up as his whining has become very boring.

He is easily good enough to get back in the ODI and test setups, but as long as we have the current management in charge it will never happen.
He hasn't played the longer form of the game for nearly a year now. If he wanted back in he would have kept quiet and played county cricket. Now he is just a 20-20 man for hire. He will make good money for a few years but his test form was declining anyway. I suspect he would have become a one day specialist for England had these issues not arisen. Form and weak knees would have pushed him that way.

Definitely yesterdays news. I think his burned too many bridges and to be honest I'd rather give a young county player a good run if their form suggests they have what it takes and build for a decent future. He'll prostitute himself around the 20-20 arena for big wedge for a couple of years and try and blag himself media work after that. Don't think he's articulate or knowledgeable about the game to get anywhere near the Sky tea

Arguably England's most destructive batsman...should be playing for England still, and it is disappointing he isn't. Sadly, I don't think he'll play for England again...but I always hope he will!

Can't remember whether i said this in the thread listed earlier: if KP had gone away, played cricket for Surrey all summer, rather than the T20 comp, played well and scored runs then yes, i think he should be re-considered. But instead he has flitted from one T20 comp to another, not done a great deal and looked fairly mediocre, so, on the basis of form alone, or any genuine tangible evidence of it, i say no he doesnt. Whether he is England's most destructive player or not, or was in the past, is irrelevant. No player should be picked on former glories.

TBH I've not been that impressed with him in the BBL4. He does talk a fantastic game, but isn't as good as his ego thinks he is. Could do with remembering its a team game, and slagging off team mates etc isn't going to do yourself any favours.

Saves me typing it out

I can't disagree with any of this really. If he was to committed to the longer form of the game, then I'm sure he'd easily still be good enough. But until he does, he can't be taken seriously.

From what he was saying in commentary he had real knee problems for 18 months or so and hated batting but is completely over the injury and raring to go.

I think England miss him (maybe not for team spirit but certainly his runs) but he has burned his bridges spectacularly. England need one or two others to step up to fill his shoes and KP will soon be forgotten.
