Very new to this forum, only my 3rd post and only been playing golf for 18 months and totally love it. It looks a real friendly forum and I just have tell someone about my super day!
My wife suprised me today by saying she had booked for us to play at Ganton for a Valentines Gift. I arranged a days holiday at the last minute and we made our way there. We only live about 15 miles away but have never been. It looked a miserable day but we thought it may mean that it would put people off so we would not be embarrassed hacking around. I have heard a lot about the course, especially the bunkers and was looking forward to it with some trepidation! Got teed off at 9am and could not believe the condition of the course, fantastic for the time of year and the greens were amazing. I managed a net 69 (3 under off handicap 25) so was totally chuffed. We went out again at 1pm and I thought at least I broke 100 so the afternoons score did not matter. dared to take the driver out for about 6 holes, it didn't have an outing this morning, and came back with a net 68. Couldn't believe it. I had a great day and loved the course. We were made to feel very welcome and cannot recommend this course highly enough. Now back home enjoying a can of beer and hoping I can continue my form onto Sunday's Club Stableford.
