Thoughts on this anyone...

Personally not his biggest fan as a person, but he is a quality centre back that will throw his all at it to stop a goal.

Who is his long term replacement now then?

Jumping before he gets pushed.

As much as I completely agree with that statement I also believe the bigwigs at FA Headquarters should have zero input on who can or cannot play for the national team, and feel it should be the managers choice who he picks.

That said won't be sad to see one of footballs most arrogant men no longer in the England shirt.

I`d love to see Cahill and Jagielka given the chance to play together. Lescott should be used as back up with somebody with huge versatility such as Jones from Man Utd when he is fit.

He was a good player for England but I don't think he will be a huge miss, I like the sound of Cahill and jagielka, but not much else around, poss Stephen Taylor :)
As for throwing his toys out, its his choice, the fa doing there best were above the law impressions so if he want to say go flip yourselves, its his choice.

Shawcross (Stoke), Cahill (Chelsea), Jags (Everton), Dawson (Spurs), Ferdinand (Pick one), Lescott (Citeh), Smalling (Utd)..... Not like England are short of good centre backs.

As for JT. He has his faults, bit of a pillock off the pitch, but a quality defender all the same.

I really dont care , but if hes already been found innocent and yet the FA want to charge him again, What can he do?
Either way its people with way too much money that dont live in the real word, with problems that just make me sick cause there not real problems
Getting money to pay bills to eat, thats real

It's all about burden of proof. He was found innocent in a criminal court because the burden of proof requires 'beyond resonable doubt'. The FA are starting civil proceedings against him with have a lower burden of proof 'in all probability'.

He will get done by the FA because it's already been established that he did say what Anton accussed him of by the criminal court but they couldn't prove that he was being malicious to him. Much like the Suarez case, JT will get done purely because he used the words regardless of the intent behind them.

If he doesn't get an 8 match ban then something is wrong.....

Whatever he has done off the field, he was a good player for England.

Even when he split the camp in the 2010 World Cup?

I only wish he'd retired from ALL football.
He is a bad person yet believes he's untouchable.
He knows that he's as guilty as hell but is trying to make the FA look like the bad guys.
How can he possibly blame the FA for his international retirement?
Did they call Anton Ferdinand a f•••••g b•••k c••t? Didn't think so.

Slime.

Not his biggest fan but I can see his reasons. He's been found innocent by the courts and that should have been the end of it.

Not true, there have been many occasions where a criminal action has lead to an acquittal but a subsequent civil action has found the accused guilty. It's due to the burden of proof being lesser for a civil action.

The FA hearing is like a civil court so the burden of proof is lesser and by his own evidence at the trial JT stated that he did indeed call Anton Ferdinand what he was alleged to have called him, it was the context that couldn't be proved in the court hearing. I would suspect that his legal team had been in discussions with the FA around this point and were told that the FA see this as a confession that he used racist language on the pitch and this prompted JT to resign from the England team before being forced out.

O.J.Simpson is probably the most high profile example of this.
