Lovely weather, negligible wind, winter clothes discarded, a bit of practice in the nets, a few putts then off to the first tee.

I hit the first tee shot 50 yards sharp right into the clunge, lost ball! cue taking 4 from the fringe of the green more than once, bad bounce going out of bounds and after 10 holes I had the grand total of 12 points, and that included 3 for a par. Believe me I was close to tears due to the frustration.

Then it all changed and I scored 20 points on the last 8 holes.

I know people will say its early in the season ,things will come, and I can understand all of that if the way I played was standard throughout the round, but the last 8 is what I know I can do. Its the finishing well after a bad start that I cant get my head around, just the opposite of the other week when I started well and finished badly.

Don't worry about it Louise just keep at it if you know you can do it then it will come.

Last Sat in the medal I went round in 90 blows. Not my best performance to say the least. Just couldn't seem to do anything right and had been playing pretty well before then.

Went out 3 days later and played in the Tue medal and took 75 blows for a net 64 and nice first place. And that was with a triple on the 17th after a poor decision off the tee...

Every day is different so just go back out there next time and try again.

I would focus on the way you came home under a full sail. It IS early in the season and the course is becoming better for a bit of sun and warmth. Maybe on the front nine your body jsut wasn't use to swinging without 5 layers on
