Has anyone played it? Planning to meet up with my Dorset mates next month and this is close to where I'm staying. With the cost of a round at £45 we are thinking of a day ticket at £52 playing the 18 holes course in the morning and the 9 hole course in the afternoon.

The website says it is a challenging course, is it just difficult or is it brutal.

Thanks.

Played the main course many times, but not the 9 hole course. The views are fantastic, and there are some great holes, especially 5th and 6th (I think) par 4 and par 5. Stopped going with our Society as the greens were not the best, and they had a lot of trouble with rabbits ! Also it is not the easiest to get to. I think of it as a holiday course rather than one I would want to be a member of.

Our society went to Ferndown instead which I can fully recommend. Parkstone, which I played this time last year, is also worth considering, and possibly the best course in Dorset,Broadstone.

Forgot to say it is difficult if the wind blows, which it usually does. A lot of gorse, so easy to lose a lot of golf balls. Not that long though, so without the wind it is not that difficult.

Agree with Richart. the difficulty of the course is wind/weather dependant. The 5th, 11th & 12th are probably the toughest holes from memory. I also heard the greens have been in a poor condition recently. It's worth a visit for the views, but as a stand alone course Ferndown, Broadstone & Parkstone are better imo.

I'd give the 9 holer a miss as it's really a glorified pitch & putt. Get in 36 or the course is nearly 2 loops of 9, so you could play 27. (with a short walk back to the clubhouse)

They do a cracking pint of Guinness and a Crab sandwich though

Totally agree with Richard's comments and suggested other courses. I would also add Barton on Sea to the list of possible other courses to play.

I´d agree with the comments made. Fantastic views and it´s a pig when the wind blows. Great course but I would choose Ferndown or Parkstone if I had a choice in that area.
