Positives and negatives for me at 6'3"
Good leverage / distance
More room in the swing for errors to creep in & can't go in and buy any old (or new!) set of clubs off the shelf
More of me to get wet and blown around in today's weather (yes its wet here now also - jinxed it earlier)
On the up side lots of longer handled putters starting to go cheap so a ready supply to choose from without changing the shaft (you gotta look for the positives)

I am 5'10" tall, but wish from a golfing point of view that I was a bit taller, because most modern golf clubs seem to be designed for people about 6 feet tall. I either need my clubs shortened slightly, or bent to a slightly flatter lie. Very tall people can be fitted with longer than standard clubs, and with these and their longer levers (arms and legs) can hit the ball further, assuming they are averagely strong.

It makes no difference at all unless maybe if you are exceptionally tall.
As for being able to hit it further if you're tall, 5 of the current top 10 in driving distance on the PGA Tour are under 6ft. Freddie Couples is 5'11" and has no trouble booming it off the tee. On the other hand, Robert Karlsson at 6'5" is currently languishing in 129th place in driving distance with a mere 279 yards.

well I'm a shorty and have no excuse then!
IN reply to the OP i would say having gone to the Welsh Open a few times I would say the average pro is taller then the norm, maybe in the past,say 20 years ago golfers were shorter but these day they are tall and very well toned gym rats.

I went to watch an LET tournament at Woburn a few years ago. As I walked to the 1st tee I kept being overtaken by very tall girls wearing golfing gear. I initially thought they must be models on some sort of promotion for a golfing clothes company, but then realised that they were the lady golfers. They were only meeting up with their caddies and golf clubs on the tee. So even in ladies golf, being tall must be an advantage!

i have always wondered the same thing to be honest im 6ft 8 and 25 stone and the rare occasion i connect properly off the tee i have managed to drive over 300yds but thats few and far between. i did get my clubs lengthened 2 inches and again that was a pain waiting on them arriving but did help endlessly obviosly i have no idea if i would be a better golfer if i was 7 inches smaller something that nobody will ever find out,

We don't have many Koreans playing on the LET tour! Most of the girls I saw were 5'9" or more!
