to learn this game (as much as is possible) than the average height bloke, last time I noticed it was about 5'11'', only asked as I remember Faldo saying he was having trouble with his swing at one point and put it down to his 6'3'' ish. And when I go to Wentworth, it does seem to me most of the pro's seem under the average height.(most not all)

Oh yeah, the boy done good, love the bloke, could of should of won a few more majors, came close, should of put play this game really, not learn,!

i though most of the tour pros were above average height: rose, tiger, stenson mickelson kuchar bubba are all 6ft 2 and above
no wonder they hit it so far :D

For a long, long time there were very few (if any) Major winners over 6ft tall. Faldo was one of the first regular worldwide winners who was also tall, as I recall.

I'm taller than Faldo, and I have to say that, whilst it has its advantages, when things go wrong for a very tall golfer they can go horribly wrong. It can also be a huge disadvantage in very windy conditions, especially on the greens.

I can see how being tall with long levers (arms) can help hit it further but it must be a hinderance in windier conditions. I'm just on six feet and would like to feel a little sturdier over my putts in these windy conditions. I widen the stance but the top half still feels like it gets moved a bit

Tall people can generate more speed due to distances the club head travels when compared to us short arses.

People are growing taller as time moves forward, so the next generation will be mahoosive.

Just kneel down
