iPhone6 went up like a Roman Candle

Was in a meeting today and one of my colleague's iPhone6 went up in a shower of sparks and plumes of smoke. Burnt out - meltingly hot. Now I had heard that happen with Samsungs - but iPhone6s?

It was just sitting there on a table doing nothing when whoosh - up it went. If he had had it in his pocket....!!

Been a long time since I saw someone do that.

It’s a known issue with these batteries, the use of them is just so so much higher. I have three devices myself that I didn’t have two years ago that use them.

Devices manufactured so close to the limits does increase the risk a touch.
