Hi All After reading Phillthe Fraggers post and also being a newcomer to the forum thought i would give a bit more info.Been at 18 h/c but the last thee years stuck at 20 h/c.Still hopeing to come down but maybe found my leval.Enjoy all posts and look forward to picking up some tips.Anyone know if their is a max. distance for a par 4 One on our course 451 yards only parred it half a dozen times since course change a few years back.

Hi and welcome to the forum. On your first issue your handicap, I dont think there is a "level" put some work in and anyone can become a much better golfer. Go and get some lessons from a pro and you will see improvement to your game rapidly. As for the length of holes here are the guidelines, they are not set in stone though.
Par 3 - Up to 250 yards
Par 4 - 251 to 470 yards
Par 5 - 471 yards to 690 yards
Par 6 - 691 yards or more
Hope this helps.

Greetings Evahakool
Welcome along and get stuck in.

On the subject of finding your "level", I think you're right. There is a level that we will all reach - or may have reached - where we are not going to get any better regardless of what we do. We may aspire to a lower handicap but natural ability - or lack thereof - is going to take over in the end. Your level may have been reached but if you've been 18 before there's no reason why you can't get back there. One example is Murphthemog - been at 11 or 12 for 20 years.

Not saying that's it Murph but I'm sure you get my drift.

Hi Drawboy
Thanks for the info on yardages.Find practice rather boring prefer to go out and play not the right attitude to improve but more fun.
