Just wondering If I'm the only one.
I'm 15. When I was 3 I was kneed in the eye. I was blind for two weeks and they weren't sure if I was going to see. After a 3 hour operation, where my eye was taken out of it's socket and repaired. Now I cannot look far up and far right with my left eye. Was difficult but better now.
Anyone else have any enlightening stories they want to share? Thought mine would be quite interesting for people to hear

Ouch! Split my elbow joint down my forearm but effects no longer than 6 months. How do you find you're vision in normal life?

Shattered my ankle in '04 tripping out of the front door - sober!
All that was keeping my foot attached were muscles, tendons, ligaments and the like..............
3 ops and 3 months later I could stand on it. Didn't play for a year though.

Okay, it's kinda just once in a while I look there and it's just like my eyesight is extremely poor. But it's not too bad really, but the 2 weeks wIting in the hospital was . They weren't sure If I had brain damage or fractured my skull. When they finally found out, it had gotten worse . But oh well, life goes on eh? Can't just stop on the 5th hole, have to get to the end :)

Had my appendix taken out (emergency surgery) and was out for 3 months. Should have been 5, but I bought graphite shafts so I could swing more easily!

Fractured my finger and missed 3 months of what little summer we had last year!

So far, that's it. And quite boring compared to the above!

I dislocated my kneecap playing rugby (and wrecked nearly all the ligaments) which in total lead to me missing almost 7 years of golf, on and off. Touch wood my knee is now finally stable again, no problems for 18 mths, but certainly not at the point of taking it for granted

I have had a cruciate graft on the left knee, a replacement right hip and just about to see the consultant to have the left one done.

The "Six Million Dollar Man" ??? no! 2 quids worth!

Chris

Nothing as interesting as the OP. Just dodgy knees as a result of playing too much football as a kid. Had them operated on a couple of yes back but they still cause me problems from time to time. Only once have they stopped me playing golf, but that was on the 6th tee on the second day of this years club champs. Had to retire - gutted

End of November 2010, having a shower after my last round of the year. Turned to reach for the showerhead and pulled muscle in rightshoulder/neck. Max'd out my firm's private health on physio appointments across winter/spring.

Every couple of rounds it comes back...and I look & feel a complete muppet !!

I fell over pished in April and missed out on a lads trip up north to play Royal Aberdeen and the Torrance. Was out of playing for 5 weeks and I can still feel the arm I damaged if I lie a certain way in bed but it doesn't affect my golf...the golf is just affected by the fact am not very good! ;)

I am off up there in ten days time so I am wrapping myself in cotton wool so I don't miss out this time!

I have had a few injuries that have kept me out of golf over the years and funnily enough they have all been done to drink injuries!!The worst one was when I severed a tendon in my middle finger and missed 9 months of the season, thought for a time I wouldn't be able to grip again but funnily enough when I came back I had my best and most consistent season and I am sure that was due to a hunger to get back playing.

If you haven't got your health you haven't got anything.

I've found bouncing off a car bonnet 6 years ago hasn't done my golf, or most things, a lot of good. 2 rounds in a day just can't be done.

Fracturing my skull twice and breaking my neck once playing rugby stopped me playing for a wee while too.

had dodger and his mate ivan up at st.andrews for a game few weeks ago and knocked ma pelvic joint out of alignment playin the 10th ..could barely walk never mind swing ...physio sorted it out but bloddy painfull !
