If you could attend one live event what would it be?

I'd go for a cold November day in Grizedale or Kielder Forests in the mid 80s and a chance to see the amazing Group B rally cars as they roared through the stages of the Lombard RAC Rally. Those short years when Group B was king were absolutely amazing.

No way !!!! Were you there ??? We were brilliant that year, i remember staying up and listening on the radio . We've been useless ever since and despite some optimism going into this year it's not getting any better.

Any of Seve's Open wins. I followed him on a number of occasions, and he stood head and shoulders above everyone else. Flamboyant, mercurial but occasionally self destructive chasing the miracle shot. He was the best ball striker I've ever seen by miles.

Woods was the closest, followed by Norman then Johnny Miller. When that crew hit the ball it was on another level.

Sadly about 10 of us from the NW were up at Silloth that day, but our minds were elsewhere. After weeks of preamble in the banter stakes, the clouds parted and two tit-ans from the wast(d)lands of the north drew battle on the northern slopes of the Manchester ship canal. It was an epic clash, that will echo down the ages, the stories told in hushed tones around the campfire........
