Might seem a bit boring/safe to pick a UK location and there'd be times I'd no doubt miss the year round golf/sun I enjoy now & for those choosing locations round the world to live out your days, be aware that extended living overseas isn't all sunshine & roses. there's plenty that drives me mad/makes me envious of UK etc

The bureaucracy can drive you nuts, but €15/hr buys a decent translator. Unfortunately, if you needed an ambulance at 3am, or sat next to you in a hospital bed it gets a little difficult. Learning the language is fun but does require a lot of effort. Staff in the bank and town hall speak English.

I would split my time between the African bush and Europe.

My favourite place is the bush. Everything about it is amazing!

Europe would be my summertime jaunt. Hip around the place with my golf clubs.

My bro-in-law moved there recently (San Marcos), we are going to see them at Easter! Cannot ruddy wait!!

Take your clubs! Some great golf. Scotty Cameron has his studio there if you fancy a one-off putting machine. Bring money - lots of it!

Anywhere that is surrounded by mountains, trees and lakes with nice weather and a golf course nearby.
An Indian restaurant and a steak house would be a bonus.

Looks like Rocky Mountains in the Banff/Canmore area. Nice. I played Banff Springs, Silvertip and Stewart Creek a few years ago. Great golf if you can avoid being eaten by a bear.

Has a golfer ever been eaten by a bear in the Rockies My experience of bears is that they generally don't see golfers as a food source.

I was kinda joking, but the courses do have warning signs for bears on the courses and if you play with locals, they will confirm that they do see them occasionally.

There's plenty of black bears in that area - Whistler is where I first saw bears in the wild (though not on the golf course) - Not sure I'd want to retire out there as it's too far from the grandkids but if I'd visited Vancouver when I was a youngster then emigrating to that area would have been on my list - my favourite city, largely because of location. Mind you I may have visited during the only rain free fortnight ever there.
