I was watching something on TV about live music yesterday which made me realise that I haven't seen enough of it. It got me thinking that if I could go back in time and watch any live music event, what would it be.

As someone who isn't a huge fan of any particular genre, I ended up thinking I would struggle to see anything better than Queen at Wembley in 86 (I think thats when it was). I don't see a lot of band frontmen like Freddie anymore.

So, what would your choice be?

The Masters pretty much any year.

Maybe when Bubba won it with that insane final shot on 18, fond memories of that year.

I was there at Wembley for Queen (and Live Aid). If I had the choice it probably wouldn't be a sporting event but I'd like to be at something unique and historic like the Berlin Wall coming down

When you starting a thread with a trump card you get a lotto people just saying that they agree. Yes, Live aid in Wembley.

As for sport events., I think the Olympic opening ceremony in Los Angeles 84 would be my sport event. As far as I can remember back it was a game changer for these.

I saw Queen at Knebworth Park on that same tour. Seen plenty of people and bands since but no one has come close to that night. No other band excites me so I am going to go sporting. I'm not a big rugby person but a Lions test when 3/4 of the crowd are sat there in their red shirts looks pretty special. Great atmosphere, totally non threatening, everyone there to enjoy the whole event, not just the match. I would choose either Australia or New Zealand as the venue.

Sporting........Masters or Ashes Boxing Day test match at the MCG.

Not a huge concert lover but Queen at Wembley would be good as would the Stone Roses at Spike Island.

Musically I've seen most I wanted to.
Sporting would be F1 at Monaco, provided I was rich enough to hob nob it on a yacht.

Future sporting - The superbowl, hopefully with the Steelers in it.

Previous sporting, Liverpool's first European cup win in Rome 1977, although I was there when we won it in 1984.

Previous golf - Europe's first Ryder cup win in the USA, or the duel in the sun.

Musically, Queen the Beatles or the Jam.

Lancashire Hotpots @ Bolton Octagon Theatre on the Achtung Gravy tour.

Sportwise - United V Bayern 99

Edit - Hotpots aside will we ever see another classic gig like some of the above mentioned? I can't see where it's coming from...maybe another thread..
