Shorts, that is.

I've always said shorts are not for me on a golf course, but each of the last 3 years I've played in the heat, bought a pair of shorts off eBay to try, but not liked the fit and never worn them.

This year I did the same but actually liked the way they fitted so today I wore them for the first time.

So much more comfortable in the heat than trousers, more so than just the difference of not having fabric over your lower legs.

Need to wear them more now so the colour of my legs matches my arms a little more.
The starter asked me not to stand waiting in the rough in case people thought my legs were OOB posts

welcome to the light side (if your legs are as milky white as mine are lol), not sure id survive playing in trousers in summer, mine just get to off white as the summer ends each year

I hope it's not hot when we play our next pairs matchplay comp together, not sure I could cope with the distraction 😂😂😜

However there needs to be some rule about what temp shorts are permitted at.. Say 20 degree... See people in middle of Spring, 10 degree wearing shorts! Madness

Ive never worn shorts on the course as well. Not only are mine old and milky white but I don't have a single hair on either of them, not now and not ever!

I have done it previously but don't like it. Particularly standing over any shot all I see is my milk-white appendages looking back up at me. It's dreadfully off-putting, plus my mate says that every time he looks at me in shorts it's as if he's looking at two out of bounds stakes.

Chrisd. I'm glad you didn't wear yours at Forest Pines last week. I had enough to contend with already.

No problems abroad in the heat but where I hit the ball at the moment, it isn't for bare legs. I have two pipe cleaners for legs anyway and do find it off putting on the rare occasions I give them some air looking down and seeing socks and shoes and a bit of pale skin

Got used to wearing shorts in NZ so as soon as temps hit 14 on they go  7 days in Italy in temps of 36-39 has off set any lingering whiteness :)

In our roll up group there is a hardcore who break out the shorts as soon as the temperature rises above 10 degrees centigrade.

As Williamalex mentioned, I too as a 5'7" short arse look like Lofty from It ain't half hot Mum in shorts - as the bottom of most tailored pairs are well below my knees.

Last time I donned a pair my PPs treated me to a chorus of "Why do you whisper, green grass".

That sealed the deal for me. Shorts for some are all well and good, but just not for me.

There's great, lovely boy!

fortunately the good Lord God gave me a pair of legs to die for, unfortunately they are both left legs. That aside shorts are the future. They are like trousers though some fit good and some, well when you are crouched over lining up a putt it's like wearing the wife's thong.

That aside I have some Dreyfus & co shorts and I look the business in um.

however be warned, if a ball goes in the rough stuff and the nettles are up to your gators Tators, am playing a provisional.

Can't beat it i wear shorts from March though to Nov. only downside is i get a lot of Bites on my legs, esp if i play late afternoon evening.

Quite a bit of vanity in some replies :D

Shorts year round for me, just make sure the fit is good, not too heavy and the material will dry quick'ish if there's a shower. Avoid colour blocking or mixing checks with striped shirts

And for all those worried about skin colour, muscle tone/definition or hairiness... pack it in! You're not on a catwalk and you're not on a date ;)

The ones I bought were Adidas 3 stripe somethingorother.

I'm only 5'8" and they sit just at the top of my kneecap (32" waist).
