Played 14 holes yesterday. Bogey bogey start, birdie birdie finish. 10 pars in the middle. Considering I’ve not played for 7 weeks, except for range and short game I was happy with how I played.
Had a knock round Huddersfield with Jamie and another junior - Edward. 2 over for the boy and Ed was 6 over - he's only 12 but his game is on point, doesn't miss much at all and he played solid golf. Jamie scrambled for his 72 - struck the ball well off the tee but missed a lot of greens, but with just 21 putts over the 18 holes he was well worth a good score. I thought my 27 putts was brilliant until buggerlugs totted his number up.
Another good round for me following on from Woodhall Spa on Tuesday - I should see my handicap cut by near enough 1 full shot overnight.
Lost QF of our winter league today. Myself and my partner had 1 shot, but 3 holes were closed, including SI 1, so never got it.
Meanwhile, one opponent had 5 shots (getting 4 of them due to shut hole). One of them was the 10th, normally a 400 yard uphill, par 4. Today, it was 160 yards with a bucket hole. He birdied that. Another was the 530 yard par 5 15th, today playing 200 yards with bucket hole. He birdied that, despite a duffed chip that went a few inches.
Ended up losing 1 down. Ahh well, winter golf, at least we were out in the fresh air. Good, close game.
