I played today and..(Rolling) -originally created by JohnnyDee

Seniors Stableford, "carry if you can", I did so had 8 clubs but bag still felt heavy in the freezing cold, very light snow flurries too.

After three holes we'd dropped a hole behind, I don't usually let this get to me and just hurry people along but today I let it and started rushing shots and decisions.
Blobbed the 4th and 5th and shanked my tee-shot on the 6th, just went through the motions after that and came in with a miserable 23 points.

Not sure what’s going on at the moment…… Ladybank was closed first thing due to frost, so plumped for a reciprocal at Lundin today. Course was in fantastic condition with greens scary fast. This was a challenge for me as ours are very slow in comparison at the moment. However, shot 78, my third sub 80 round in a week….. am getting confused wondering where my normal game has gone…..🫣

Another cold one but today the course was frozen
We set off at 11 and it was hard to get tees in the ground.
We played 16 holes and I had 30 points but its hard to commit to any shot of more than 20 yards when you know it's going to bounce and run uncontrollably.
It was fun though but not anything to repeat tomorrow.

14 holes open this morning, 8 main greens, 6 temps. Just played the front 9, was tempted to carry on as my bad knee felt ok, but decided discretion was the better part of valour and quit while I was ahead. Didn't bother scoring as the rest of the lads were playing a comp over the 14, but was hitting it well, and would have had 21 points for 9 had I been counting (out in 43).

Wow......you're dedicated playing in these conditions mate, hats off

it will still be there, winter golf on links course are much easier than summer, shorter courses with no rough and soft greens

Almost a full course today for the first time for 6 weeks or more, one hole closed due to safety reasons, nice to be hitting to proper greens instead of temps too.

Hadn't played in a month and a half.....I've now played 5 of the last 6 days. Ripon has been open since last Saturday with carry only, Oakdale has been open since Monday but only 12 holes. My experiment with the side saddle putter has been a disaster.....putting worse than when I got it so I've switched back to the Evnroll.

Played the Old Tom course at rossapenna today. We were the last group out in the comp and came up the par 5 last hole in near darkness.
4 over front. 1 under back.
Bogied two of the par 5s. Stings a bit.

They cut the fairways at Newport today. A week of dry easterly winds has dried it out sufficiently.

All nice and stripey again!😳
They cut the greens for the first time in forever on Friday. When we last played on Tuesday they were the finest Axminster, you can imagine the outcome. It would have taken 16 holes to get used to them, but we only had 15 open.

The fairways haven't been cut in months, however it's not a problem as we are on mats. Perfect lie every time.

Tropical storm overhead but wanted to get some golf in before it intensifies to cyclone tomorrow
Bogey golf was the theme in some serious rain at times, still wearing shorts and shirt but well soaked through (I'd have been drier in the sea)
The tide on 13th green round the pin stopped the putt dropping, with pin totally submerged but made the second putt with ball totally under water
Rain Cleared the course of the couple of other groups so made it round in around 2.15 after two 4 balls let me through

Seriously thought of going out again but the lure of the chicken wrap was too much

Out early this morning, bit chilly but no frost.

Continued to hit the ball well, other than a couple of fat chip/pitch shots it was all pretty steady. Round in 75, seem to be playing pretty steadily to single figures now, just need the official handicap to catch up.
