I played today and..(Rolling) -originally created by JohnnyDee

Fairways pretty dry and greens a little lumpy but still good.
Yellow tee stableford and played the front 9 level par gross, 1 birdie, 1 bogey, rest pars. Level par after 10 holes too. Then wobbled for a bit but finished with three pars for a gross 77, 4 under handicap. 40 points has me second. Not bad.
Sadly, bunkers out of play, pick and place everywhere, so can't put a score in. Bugger!

Going well though...👍

Carry only again today - and can't see it changing soon even with no rain due.
A bit chilly but light winds to start.
A bit hit and miss on the front 9, struggled with a block off the tee
Sorted it out on the back 9 and, after a double on 10, played the last 8 in 2 under ( another 2 - every round this year so far (5))
Hitting the ball quite well which is encouraging
Just need to ground to firm up a bit.....

First medal of the year following two days of course closure and a lesson Wednesday night. With no practice the only aim was to stick at it. +4 over Hc which I wasn’t upset about, three nett 66’s (~6) were in when I left!

Miracle of miracles the course was actually open - front nine only. So we played it twice.

Much colder this morning than it has been so it took me several holes to get a swing going. Luckily short game was good and bailed me out a few times - until I doubled 7 and 8. 45 for the first nine - pretty poor.

Second nine started similar until the 5th hole where it deteriorated rapidly and I basically lost my swing completely. Drives sliced and pulled, 7 iron weak slices and fat hooks. Timing completely off. One of those times where everything just feels wrong and you can't get it back at all. Short game was still decent but not good enough to bail out this mess. 47 for the second nine. Very poor.

Some of it was good bogey golf but I only made 1 par all day. Hadn't played since Christmas Eve but it felt like I hadn't played in months by the end. Oh well, at least I got to play.

Much drier than expected today, was expecting the course to be open but was surprised to see only 1 temp green on our wettest area of the course.

Hit the ball well to give 5 or 6 birdie chances, but just couldn’t hole a putt. 77 gross gave me 37 points, which was somehow enough for 3rd in division 1 so took home £20.

Capts Drive In

2 clubs and a putter - level par after 15 holes , and then had to walk in due to time constraints and it already taking 4 hr 20 mins
Was very, very slow out there today. I think the group in front of us lost at least 2 holes.

I was very pleased to get 33 points with just one blob. 19 points on the back 9 with a couple of missed putts too.

Winner got 40 points, absolutely outrageous scoring.

You didn't tell us which two clubs you went for? 😁

13 holes open, carry only - considering I’ve not been on a course since mid-October, and only been to the range a couple of time, I was quite happy! Scrappy off the tee with the driver, irons were ok and short game was good.

I played for only the second time in 3 weeks. Good decision not to enter the monthly comp.
Stone cold top for the 3 wood second shot - nearly embedded the ball in to the ground under the ball
Question - would that have counted as a ball embedded in it's own pitch mark?
It was only going down the 4th that I realised I had my bifocal glasses on rather then the ones I used for playing.

Putting was a good as it gets given the state of the greens with a number of single putts, sadly which were for par.

By 'eck that were a tad nippy this morning...........
The wind was cutting right through you and we even had a couple of snow flurries.....
The course is firming up, so much so that trolleys were allowed although we are asked to carry if we can
Steady, if unspectacular, front 9 of 4 over for 18 points followed by a 21 point level par back 9....
Sadly the 2s run has ended...a lipout on 16 did for me......

too cold for me and working anyway, but plenty out on the Kings below work, freezing fog and rock hard ground... hardcore:LOL:

My partner and I got in 2 holes today. After waiting around on the 3rd tee for 10 minutes we gave.
Too cold and it was obviously going to be a long round.
At least I got some gardening done.
