I played today and..(Rolling) -originally created by JohnnyDee

Hit a respectable 33 points today. Closing 4 holes were in a gale and 3 of them into wind. Including 600 Yard par 5 and 580 par 5

Nice birdie on the 17th.. only a 4 hybrid to a 130 yard pin in that wind 😂

Was hoping to play my 2nd round knockout today but my opponent wasn’t about so just did 9nworh a friend and his son.

A cheeky -2 32 for 22 points but in all honesty the course should be closed

Played 18 today .
given the forecast we were expecting to get wet but nothing.
Weather forecast very wrong again!

Course surprisingly dry with the wind we’ve had.
Greens are not good and very bumpy should be on temps!
Hit the ball well but I have had a chest infection over the holidays and sounded like an 80 a day smoker coming up the hill on 16th.

I'm getting very fed up with three club winds, but still had fun at Farleigh with Oddsocks and one of his mates.
And managed to halve with him on 31 points, so he still hasn't beaten me on his home courses! 🤣
Thanks for sorting, @Oddsocks!

Last game of the year yesterday in the tain proshop medal. Not a bad day, but strong wind again. I think it was a SE. Made a change having more than a flick for my 2nd on 3,4,6,7. The par 3 8th was a flick, which was nice last time I hit 4 iron and was still short.. back 9 was pretty much downwind apart from the par 5 13th into a stiff breeze, driver 3wood and 5 iron to just get to the front🤣. All in all hit it ok, 4 over gross in challenging conditions, down side was I bogeyed the 18th again, got to be the 4th or 5th time in a row, very annoying, especially after only being 10 ft away for birdie. Game is OK considering I'm not playing much or practicing at all..

First full 18 in almost a month due to weather and Xmas...
Carry only still, which is a pain as I normally wouldn't carry for 18 but...
First par of the year came on the 3rd, First birdie of the year on the 10th.
Didn't keep score but it was around 32 pointsish.....
Great to be out, a bit chilly and strong gusty winds bit kts going to heave it down again today and tomorrow so it was best to get out.
Club was pretty quiet as I suspected...

Played 16. First time using fairway mats at our place. Struggled pitching off the bristles. Completely forgot I could turn it over till the very last hole.
Enjoyed being out even if it was very wet under foot.
Driver was off the boil today. Need to remedy that. Irons were good. I'm sure the mat helped. Knocked some nice and tight and made 2 birds. Should have been more.
Zero wind and a bit of sun was a bonus.

Hopefully gonna carry on the year the way it’s started…….

After an early drive over to Lundin Links to watch the first sunrise of the year, which incidentally was quite fantastic.

And then watch a few bods still impaired from last night go into the sea😵

I dashed home for a black pudding and apple sauce roll, a quick change and the out for 9 holes at Ladybank.

Beautiful and sunny but frozen hard, mats and winter greens. Not to be put off, started par, par, par, bogey, bogey, birdie, bogey, birdie, birdie. As I walked off 9 level par, I thought I can’t leave it at that, so pushed on.

Bogey, par, par, par, par, bogey, bogey, par, bogey. For a +4 75…..

I know it was a shorter, winter course, it took some serious shot manufacturing to get round, but a hell of a way to knock in a happy start to the New Year.

Went up to Dewsbury with the youth, nobody in the pro's shop so played gratis - but to be honest, I'd have been a bit miffed if I'd paid on - place was soaking wet, loads of winter greens and every hole obviously on mats.
Hit the driver lovely, putted quite nicely where there there was the odd decent surface - not bad after a fairly long lay off. Scratched a golfing itch but I'm glad our course has remained closed - Dewsbury will drain a little better than our place and it really wasn't fit for golf.

Wo, Wo and Wo... Black pudding and apple sauce 🤯 ... Wtaf.. Is this some kinda Fifer thing.?? .. normally a "don't knock it till you've tried it" is the way to go but this is a new culinary combination I am not sure I shall attempt... I shall need to ask my "gods country" neebours if this is a thing..
Great pic and round though. 👍 Lol.

Yeah….. maybe a different influence but add some apple sauce to the standard black pudding in a roll and you have a top drawer brekkie fest. 😇

Played yesterday, second best score at my home course (in 4 years of membership) second best score differential in 18 months

Played the par 3s level par Aswell which is a personal best (previous best was +1)

Played 18 today, carrying half a set; putter, 4 irons, 4 wood and a modern driver (well, 15 years old so modern for me).

The front nine was in surprisingly good condition after all the recent rain, the back nine was the worst I've seen it though.
And my scoring reflected this, 2 over par for the front 9 and 10 over par for the back nine!

Played 9 this morning , 2 birdies after a bogey on the first , greens superb after all that rain and just the odd wet spot but front 9 in great shape , a few bigger puddles on the back 9 just need to filter away but after the level of rain we have had it was quite surprising how it was

Played a solo 12 holes this afternoon....most pleasant after the last week.
The course is in pretty decent nick although, with the greens being so soft, there are a lot of footprints so putting later in the day is hard work..
Bogeyed the first 2 then went on a par run that was shattered by a 2 on our 8th....3 " rounds" this year and a 2 in each of them.
Then pars on 9,10,11 and 16 to finish 1 over for the 12 holes
Most satisfactory.
Out again tomorrow morning with as few clubs as possible as I'm doing 18 and it's bound to be carry only
