by my standers today the front 9 where fantastic, scored 15points 2 pars withing 3 holes thats good for me i only failed to score on the first and 7th holes, playing off 22

so we come to the 10th tee after a lil bit to eat at the butty van feeling confident and drive splits the fairway dead center leaving me what should be easy shot to the green and hopefully get down for par....

wrong sliced the approach OOB, drop shot hooked onto the other fairway, shot back towards the green bladed it over the green and OOB

it didnt get any better next hole par 5 okish drive left but playable, 3hybrid sliced OOB, drop a ball, swing slice OOB,

next hole i did ok tee shot way left, managed to scramble to get down in 4,

carried on this bad all the way round the back 9, i just couldnt hit a decent shot, just dont know what happened to my play after the drive on the 10th,

absolutley gutted

only real positive to take from the 18holes is no 3 putts

What sort of sarnie did you have? Was there ketchup involved? Is it possible some bacon fat on your fingers affected your grip the rest of the way round?

Seriously mate, it can all go from great to bad in the space of a few swings for any player. That's why we hate, sorry, love this game so much!

haha you know what i did have mustard on my burger and some of the bacon fat DID get onto my ungloved hand!!

Shooting a good score on the front 9 got you out of your comfort zone. Its all relative. Rory blew up like a flame near hydrogen at the Masters. But he learnt from it and look what happened at the US Open.
In other words, the more good front 9s you shoot, the more comfortable you will feel and sooner or later, there will be a good back 9 as well.
Also, have a think about breaking the course into more 'bits' and not just front & back 9. Suggest 6 lots of three holes.

Had 10 points stable ford yesterday, for 13 holes, playing off 9. It happens to us all. Yet Wednesday I was striping it. Silly game.

Run in to captains weekend was 41pts off 10 ,, cut to 9.. another 41pts ..all set for great .. (thats great now, not just good captains qualifying round) ..wanders home in 94 strokes.. worst comp round ever .. hit the ball ok too , just like a blind 3 legged donkey near the greens .. all over the shop .. just need to shoot -18 tomorrow & with my handicap im in with a shout ..

I wouldn't worry about it, it happens to us all more often than we'd like. My last 4 rounds gross score are 74, 91, 75 & 76 Also this year I have played the front 9 level par and the back nine 12 over. Things like this happen and make the good days all the more sweet. It's not necessarily about how you perform, it's about how you react to the performance.

Played the front 9 in 16 points and suddenly came to life and played the back nine 2 over gross with two double bogies on Saturday. Went out Tuesday evening and played the same back nine like a muppet

Golf is so much fun

I scored a pathetic 21 today. Did get 4 points on two different hole. (Birdy at S.I 17 par 4 and par at S.I. 3 Par 4) but the rest of my game was terrible!
