I tell you what I don't like about funerals, when there are 200 folk in the church who have come to see off good old Bill and the minister insists to call him by his Christend name of Norman.

Two years ago, I was at my Grandmothers funeral, me, my dad, my mam (her daughter), her other daughters and her son, all their families and everyone else who turned up knew her as Jean, always was Jean never anything different, until the priest called her Jane, there were a few sharp intakes of breath, but he was right, she had been christened Jane, but had always been known as Jean. The priest did explain himself and how the name change had come about.
