• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

How would you feel?

No buggies at my place, although if you provide your own, and have your own insurance, the club will give you a route to get round the course.;) Looked into this for soldier that might want to play in the Help For Heroes day. Would struggle to get round the course without a route map, as we have a lot of drainage ditches, and the bridges over them are mostly narrower than a buggy.

I would have no problems being beaten by someone in a buggy, as long as it wasn't Smiffy at Cooden.

No problem to me. I would accept someone's word that they needed a buggy for medical reasons. A doctor's chit should not be needed at club level.

It wouldn't bother me either in terms of the comp. Only thing I find with a playing partner in a buggy is I rush round more and it's a bit less sociable as it's hard to chit chat down the fairway (unless I jog alongside)!!

Im just wondering what the general consensus is about this......
As most know iv been laid up with a cast the past 10 weeks but im now in 2 shoes albeit nowhere near 100% and last weekend i shot a couple of shots lower than my handicap....It was only a bounce round but i was happy with the outcome......

So this weekend iv entered the first singles medal.....I still have a bit to go strength wise and also flexibility wise but i can get the ball out there a decent enough distance.....
Im hoping that ill get a buggy for the round as i know my leg wouldn't last 9 let alone 18 walking....

So what would you think if someone rolled up to your course at the weekend played in a medal in a Buggy and beat the field to win the Comp?

Just love the fact that you have already won it!! Seriously though, I would not care, good on you for getting out there but dude... be careful, you don't want another setback!

We would bitch slap your pansy a** all round the course , havent you still got one good leg ?:D

mind you thats only if you won tho, if you played crap we would agree it was only right you should have been allowed use it & wish you a speedy recovery ha ha .. hypocrits everywhere ..

Been honest tho id have no probs what so ever , it doesnt play the shots for ya , i actualy think buggys dont help my game at all ,

Agreed it should be taken at the mans word, if he was taking the p*ss it wouldn't be long found out. As for whether I would be aggrieved at a win? Of course not, however in the event of a tie we will not go to countback, the winner will be decided on whether he carried, used a trolley or karted it, in that order.

:)
