How long long do your shoes last ?

Seeing the nice Adidas samba and wondering how long people typically use their shoes for?

I currently have 2 pairs in a summer/winter rotation, my A360 v2's are 2seasons in and still going strong (generally used from spring to autumn, or when it's dry .... simply because they're white and look crap when dirty). Also got a pair of HiTec CDT500 that work as my winter shoes (they are black and less flashy), only just out of their first season.

I think both would work well for quite a while yet, and the summer/winter thing is just to prolong the life of the A360's (they are still waterproof, so no reason to not use them in winter apart from becoming grubby).

So when buying a new pair of shoes how long are you expecting your shoes to last? How long have you had your current ones?

PS. Don't tell the wife when I end up buying another pair

I've had my current FJs for over 2 years and they're still in nice condition. I'll only be able to justify buying a new pair when they start letting in water.

I have had my nikes for 2 years now and they are still in good condition but i am going to buy some new summer ones soon and keep them for winter as they are black.

I've got 9 pairs. Some are 10 years old, but don't get worn much, some are newer and battered. I play alot, sometimes 6 times a week, so my shoes get a pounding. The ones I wear most are the ones that live in the car. If I get 18 months out of them I'm happy.

i have had my Footjoy Classics for 14 years now, still look good. had the soles done about 2 years ago.

Funny, was having a conversation about this at work only about an hour ago. I've got 5 pairs of Adidas golf shoes in the garage. The oldest pair are approx 5 years old and still waterproof. The next 2 pairs are approx 3 years old, one leak like a sieve and were replaced under warranty by a pair that are still waterproof. adidas gave me the leaky ones back as well for use in the summer. One pair bought this time last year in the sale for £30, worn 3 or 4 times a week until November, still going strong. last pair bought for the same £30 in a sale last November for winter wear. Bar the one pair, they are all good, but still may make space for a pair of Samba or Street........

I always take mine back to my pro about 11 months after I purchased them and say they leak, he sends them back to Footjoy or Adidas, I get a voucher for a new pair.

my current fj sports are going on for 2 season old, still in pretty good nick and still comfy as they day they were borne. they have started to leak a touch, but after 2 years with nothing more than the odd whipe over i think they have done well, this is range sessions and rounds.

I brought a new set of fj sports boa's for this summer, they will be summer shoes only and will get a little more love and polish, i reckon id get the same if not more life from them this way.

Would definitely be looking to get a minimum couple of years out of these, providing they don't split or waterproofing fails. Even if it does, it just means I get to buy new shoes, which I love doing, so my annoyance is short-lived. I'm a marketer's dream.

Old pair of FJ LT, lasted longer than the two pairs of dryjoys which are about as waterproof as a teabag.

My problem is when i get a pair of shoes i have to wear them in for a couple of months before i use on the course. I've an old cricketing injury to my right big toe which means i only ever get 10 months waterproof guarantee.

I brought Dunlop White Cheapos last year when I first started out - They were on Amazon and I think they werent even £20. I have used them probably 20 times and this week realised the right shoe has turned into a crocodile already...

The problem I have is I take a size 12 and worry the shoes will blister me on the course. The ones I currently have are size 13 and I am struggling to find anything over than the Lidl version of golf shoe in my size. Any other big foots out there that can help?

I have a pair of old (5-6 years ) footjoy dryjoys that I generally wear at the range or if im going to play a few practice holes etc.

For playing i have 3 pairs at the moment, all Adidas Tour 360. one a few months old which i will carry on using until march/april and then ill start woth one of the other (brand new) pair and use those thoughout the summer (switiching back when rainy/muddy). I hope that these 3 pairs get me through the next 2-3 years with a bit of rotation and the odd clean. i got them all quite cheap so happy with that. I do keep my eyes out for deals though and if a premium shoe comes up cheap I will get them, cant justify £120+++ for shoes !!

Having said all that I am really tempted to get some of these just for those really hot summery days....

dave, try and find a stockiest with fj sports in a 12. they are honestly the most comfy shoes ive ever worn, and the new 2012 version with boa laces comes up half a size bigger. im a 10 in trainers, purcahsed a 10 in fj sports and they were spot on out the box, but the new boa spec ive had to order a 9.5

Friend of mine has 13's too. He bought some incredibly cheap Nike ones from eBay last year, and also bought some Adidas from Sports Direct too.

Basically he says they are usually hard to find in normal shops, but on eBay you can get bargains (as nobody else bids on them), and he bought the ones from sports direct simply because they were cheap and the only time he had ever seen them in a shop !!

I have a pair of Nike's which I have used for about 8 years. The spikes are almost useless and my feet get damp, time to replace I think.
