How long do you typically spend at the course, per round?

At the weekend I'm usually there about 7.45 for a 9.00am tee time to have plenty of time to warm up, get myself sorted, maybe a bit of brekkie and then out. I'm usually in no hurry to shoot off afterwards although not being able to drink can make it frustrating after a nightmare when all you really want is a few pints to drown the sorrows.

In the summer I'm usually at the club every night either playing as many holes as I can or working on a few things on the practice ground or putting green. As I have a locker its a straight commute and a £5 cab fair and a quick change (we have a casual dress code so I'm normally in a plain golf shirt and trousers anyway). Sometimes HID will meet me at the station and so its cheaper. I'm basically there until its dark and HID being a lovely lady will usually leave me a small salad or something to munch as soon as I get in.

In winter I tend to only play competitions as I don't enjoy playing in the heavy conditions and prefer to tinker with my game or get some lessons sorted. Usually I go to a range for a couple of buckets and I'm happy but occasionally I might wander back to the club (If HID is hinting about going to Tescos) for an hour of chipping and putting

I realise that not having kids makes my life really easy as does a wife who is happy for me to spend as much time as I want playing. She does her own thing (shes just getting a bespoke hanging basket service off the ground) and so everyone is happy

My missus prefers that i play golf. I've alway played cricket on Saturday's and that involves being out of the house from 1130 till 2100

HID drops me off at 7.30,warm up before teeing off at 8.30. In clubhouse 1200-1230 ,a few sherberts before HID picks me up at 1430 after finishing work. Drops me off at the pub and then home for dinner. Job done.

In the Comps on sundays i try to get an 8:30-9 tee time and its about the 4hr mark for the round that usually sees me back home for about lunchtime...

If im just out for a knockabout i take my time i could be gone for close to 6 hours and if its really fine during the summer i might squeeze in 2 rounds as long as i clear it with HID im square. :D

Arrive at about 7:45 - have to "clock in" for the Swindle by 8:15. Groupings drawn at 8:15 then we're away. We have two starting places so we're usually all off by half eight, twenty to nine. Back by about 12 a pint & a chat, winners sorted and away off home by about 1:30. 10 min journey

I have a wife and two weans under 3 plus a mut!

I just tell her whoes boss!

I normally turn up about 15 minutes before I'm due out, 5 mins drive each way and half an hour or so in the bar afterwards, so I'm out for about 4.5 - 5 hours depending on the pace of play.

Normally get a 9.30 slot on fridays so I can get The Boy to school and have enough time to get to the club. We can often get off a few minutes early too. About 3-3 1/2 hrs scoring 38 points and then into the bar for a drink and a baguette and then normally off to work by about 2.30 for 3-4 hrs then get The Boy from After-school club.

Seems to work just fine!

I used to get there at least an hour and a half early and play 3 times a week so I got a bit of practice. Now I get there when the balls are being thrown up, play once and find my handicap has gone up over 2.5 strokes in the last year!

I normally make a whole day of it on a Sunday. Get there for about 10 cooked brekkie Tee off about 11 in by 2.30 -3 bowl of chips few pints. Dinner from carvery few more pints then HID picke me up about 10. Good thing she works on Sundays.

If a practice game, on my own, I'll usually jump on at the 2nd, play with 2 balls, and get round the whole course in about 2 hours 45 mins. In roll-up comps, the round takes about 4 hours 30 mins, with another hour and a half in the club after.

Takes about 10 mins to walk to the club, 5 mins to 2nd tee, from my hoose.
