We are about 40mins via M25 from both Heathrow and Gatwick, but M25 being what it is we aim to get to either at least 2hrs before flight time. Can’t be bothered trusting traffic etc and the stress that can result if time becomes tight. Not in the slightest bit bothered if all goes smoothly and we find we have 3hrs to hang around. I always have a book to read.
