Has using an electric trolley made a difference to your game?

I don't see the point personally, I'm very happy carrying.

I don't feel tired carrying, even when it's 36 holes, and I walk the 3/4 mile there and back with bag on my back.

If you're young and fit there's no real need for an electric trolley in my opinion.

Hi,
I have the Go Kart as well very powerful no complaints with it and i bought one of the reconditioned ones for 140 I think a great peice of kit very sturdy and a good battery.

I have had a Motocaddy S3 for nearly two years. I love it and it does help with tiredness, especially on hilly tracks. However I have not been without my problems with it. On my 4th battery and although they now have a new contract and are supplying Panasonic batteries it has cause me a headache having to get them replaced all the time.

PS3 or caddy. Go with the caddy. I got myself a wii 2 years ago and hardly use it.

Slugger - I'm a member at West Lothian GC and the electric golf trolley is a blessing on holes 8, 14 and 16 where there are steep hills.

What trolley do you use? Would be good to get a members take on things.

I've played the course a couple of times and remember the 8th being really steep next to the hole. Only bad hole on the course imo.

Absolutely agree. I know it will anger a lot of people, but I say if you don't have the physique/fitness to carry then surely that lack of fitness must affect your golf swing.
Go easy on the pies and do a bit of exercise.

Maybe not but if I ever came across one I assure you I could run up it with my clubs on my back faster than an electric trolley could.

Can't say if its made a difference to my scoring but I am more comfortable and relaxed and less tired late in the round. I also like the option of being able to carry lots of stuff (ie bulky clothing when it's wet and 1.5 litre bottles of H2O when it's hot) and not worry about the weight of it. Overall a great investment.

Only tiny downside is you need to walk around greens rather than across them and sometimes leave them behind when you head into the rough. Not a big deal is it really?

I have always taken my Go Kart across the greens, isnt that why the new ones have the all terrain wheels now?

I don't think electric trollys are for unfit or over weight people, I just think why make the game harder than it needs to be?

When I use my trolly I have far more energy left for the last few holes than I do when slugging a winter bag around with all the bits and peices.

Carrying is just a highly over-rated macho driven pastime.

yes, when most of us were younger, fitter, and less 'wise', not to mention unable to afford an Electric Trolley, we all carried.
However, I know of a lot of very young, very good (single stats) golfers that use a trolley simply because it helps them play better.

I remember listening to that fat whinger Montgomery many years ago as he walked off after one round in the US Open. He came off the course saying he was completely exhausted........ and that was with a caddy carrying his bag. All he was doing was strolling around hitting a bloody ball. Bear in mind how long ago it was, I doubt if he had hit 30 by then and was at the peak of his fitness. How would he have coped if he'd had to carry his bag as well????

I carried this weekend for the first time since the beginning of summer, I couldn't half feel the difference by the 14th, trolley all the way for me.

I had to carry at Wimeraux the other week for the first time in ages. Try as I might I cannot get the hang of double straps and have a habit of just carrying the bag by one of them over my right shoulder.
My shoulder ached and was sore for about three days.
Trolley all the way for me too
