Has using an electric trolley made a difference to your game?

I've saved up the money to buy a PS3 over the last few months, but i'm sat here questioning wether i really need one, or would really use it, and what i could better spend the money on...

I have everything i need for golf, apart from an electric trolley. Having only used one once and having it fail on me and ruining my round of golf, i'd like to know from all you users out there if you think having a trolley really has made a difference to your game and if it's a worthy purchase? Do they go wrong and become a hastle, or do they perform faultlessly and make you feel better after a round of golf?

Budget would be £300, so looking at hillbilly Terrain, Gokart (although their website seems to be down) or Motocaddy S1.

Help me decide please if i should buy a trolley in the first place and if so, which one?

Undoubtably.

At 47yrs old, H/C come down from 12 to 9 this year, and my Powakaddy is definitely a factor in that.
Quite why so many people insist on carrying is just beyond me.

You wouldnt go back.

I can honestly say that the money I spent on my GoKart is the best money I have spent on golf in over 20 years.
Doesn't have to be a GoKart by the way, just saying that I would be lost without my electric trolley now

Can't say if its made a difference to my scoring but I am more comfortable and relaxed and less tired late in the round. I also like the option of being able to carry lots of stuff (ie bulky clothing when it's wet and 1.5 litre bottles of H2O when it's hot) and not worry about the weight of it. Overall a great investment.

Only tiny downside is you need to walk around greens rather than across them and sometimes leave them behind when you head into the rough. Not a big deal is it really?

i have not got an electric trolley i have a push 1,however my dad has and he loves it.also my course is flat when his is hilly,but the most important thing is your comfortable when playing it makes all the differance

I think by the last few holes it does help with energy. The reason I went for a GK was because once you have all the gear in your bag it can weight a ton over 18 holes of soggy fairways, the only downside is now with trolley parks which can be quite a way from either green or tee, so for this reason I am going to carry this coming weekend.

I'm thinking the golf trolley is something that will benefit something i love doing - which is playing golf, whereas the ps3 would just be filling time that i could be doing something else more constructive.

I have my wife to thank for this lates bout of doubting the purchase of something i've been saving for!

If you're joining West Lothian there is no question. You will definately feel the benefit of an electric trolly!

There's a few hilly holes on my course.
previously when I was pulling by the time I'd reached the top of the hill I was puffing and panting.
And especially if I was teeing off first I felt a bit of pressure to get on with it, so I was setting up still out of breath (I really should give up the ciggys)
With the electric trolley I'm far less out of breath and my tee shots on those holes are accordingly better, so yes
I would wholeheartedly recommend getting an electric trolley,
it allows you to concentrate more on your shots than your energy levels.

my budget only stretches to the hill billy - unless the wife is feeling really generous!

I started with a pull trolley, progressed to an electric and have have recently been carrying,
but anything over 18 holes, hilly tracks, comps or needing to shift a lot of kit and back out comes the electric.

carrying (a thing I said I'd never do!) is great for an evening round, drive up, shoes on, grab the bag and go.

If you can wait a few weeks longer, I know that GoKart were doing an offer just before last Christmas where you got the carry bag (normally costs just over £20.00) free when you bought the Kart. May be worth waiting to see if they do something similar?

I bought one a couple of months ago for the missus but I use it in Saturday comps. It is a big advantage in competition play especially in the wet so it's nice to have the option.

The main gripe I have is the amount of faffing about with battery, charger, the car boot, putting it together etc compared with just slinging my clubs over my shoulder and walking to the tee.
