For all you experts out there.....

Am I right in thinking that the hands should be infront of the ball at impact with all shots? And does this include putts?

Is part of the game that simple?????

Edited part...

Just thinking ...anyone else got a simple "fact" about the golf swing they would like to share. I am an 18 handicapper who has only started playing seriously a few years ago so I love to find out things about the golf swing that may help me improve me game. Sometimes its the smallest wee thing that just clicks.

Please feel free to share your thoughts.

Not neccessarily. If the hands are forward then it's only very slightly. Your not talking about 4" ahead of the ball or anything, maybe an inch.
To be fair it depends on swing and the ball position at address.

Yes, all normal shots.

And does this include putts?
If your hands are ahead then you may be delofting your putter and slightly hitting the ball into the ground which potentially makes the ball skid or bobble. Try asking Bobmac as he's the putting expert.

Yes your hands should always be ahead of the ball at impact for every shot, this is one of the instances where modern technology has confused people, the offset of most irons masks this common swing flaw
