Nice and simple

What was your HI at the start of the year

What is it now

What was the highest and lowest during the season

And how many Q rounds have you played

Me

Started at 2.1

Currently at 1.0

Lowest was 0.9

Highest was 2.4

I have 28 Q rounds this year

2.6 across the board

6 qualifiers, and I've played in all but 2 comps (3 rounds) at the club this year and one away qualifier. (Looking forward to getting back to Blighty and playing regular comps again!)

Started the year at 15.3.
In April I went up as high as 16.9, this was only for one round though.
I'm now at 11.9 which is the lowest I've ever been.

MyEG shows 32 rounds on it for this year. (10 were competition rounds, so 22 are GP rounds.)

Retook up the game after a 6 year hiatus in mid June. WHS/England Golf gave me a handicap based on previous scoring record and plus time out of playing of 7.0 without any cards submitted which seemed odd to be fair. So my record this year is:

Started 7.0
Finished 2.5
Lowest 2.5
Highest 7.0

7 qualifying rounds.

Started 2.8
Currently 1.7
Lowest 1.7 (reached at 13/09/2025)
Highest 5.3 (new putter to the rescue!)

36 qualifying rounds, I think 3 are GP rounds and 1 is from a 4BBB. All the others are competition rounds.

Started at 13
Currently 11.3
Lowest 11.1
Highest 13
Cards 16

Started the year of with a PB 78 on new years day to break 80 for first time ever and did it again a couple more times
Not sure if I can get handicap lower without a much better short game but won't stop trying...

Plenty of scope to get it lower. I remember taking a screen shot when I got to 9.1 in case I never made it to single figures again.

Started at 7.2
Now 11.1

Played a comp every Saturday no GP cards

I have had a problem with my hands. Arthritis and trapped nerve in my neck.
Hoping to get back down a bit next year now my neck is sorted.

Started 9.2
Highest 10.2
Lowest 8.9
Current 9.1

Consistent think nearly every score was 81-86

All taken from competitive rounds (31 of them)

Started 4.6
Lowest 3.9
Highest 5.0
Current 5.0

40 cards - all club comps

I was 4.0 on the 9th of September.
Six more cards up to the 30th September knocked off all the good scores from June that got me to 3.9 to finish year on 5.0

Interesting to see how many, me very much included, have had a very consistent year with h/c moves only very marginal. Whether each golfer views that as a good thing or a bad thing is up to them. For me, I've enjoyed being much more consistent this year, even though the level might horrify some
I wonder does it show that when playing regularly and submitting cards does it mean WHS is working properly as seems everyone has very consistent numbers and have found the right average for HI. As long as everyone has fun and doesn't take it to serous who cares what the level is that's my attitude to golf :giggle:
