Guess the experiment?

Murph, I like the idea of spending some time on the practice area, hopefully we'll have enough time when we arrive.

I'm only seeing rain on the forecasts, could make for a very fun day.

It might just be a bit of drizzle or such. Metcheck shows some rain, but not 'build an ark' type rain. If we avoid that, then I will be happy.

Wet practice isn't much fun, but I do need to hone the old skills a bit, as they were decidedly rusty at the weekend.

Mrs Mog is away tonight, so in theory I can have an early night and wake up refreshed and raring to go. In reality, it is probably take away curry, loads of beers and a couple of dvds. Decisions decisions.

I'm popping by the range for half hour on the way home just to hit a few wedges, then home to clean the clubs ( i know thats twice in two weeks but want them shiny for tomorrow).

Mrs Minty is at home tonight so I'll make sure she has all my gear ready for the morning. In reality I'll be up at 4am ironing trousers and and a jumper.

I will be the one in the creased up non ironed kit then, poorly prepared as usual. Left on my own, probably won't even end up with matching socks.

Must remember to feed the cat before leaving.

If the comp is medal, could the exp. be something to do with how h/caps affect standard scratch?

I prefer the idea of having naked young lady caddies trying to put me off, but I doubt if this would make it into GM, more one for GP.

The other thing is, there are 3 tee times, and 9 of us, so either we are playing in 3s, or there is a mystery 4th player per team, who will influense the game in some way.

There is also a half hour gap between groups 2 and 3. I can't see the tee being that busy on a wet Wednesday that we couldn't get 3 back to back tee times, so why the gap?

Probably something dull, like allowing for 3 people to be late, but could be something.

Just make sure that we get a full run-down on what the hell is going on coz we all want to know - now!!

And don't let them tell you to keep quiet until it comes out in the mag - thats just not fair.

I'm guessing its just going to be a medal to see how each different handicapper adapts to playing a completely foreign course and who plays nearest there handicap.

The gap in tee times could be invloved somehow but really can't see how.

I'll look forward to finding out the groupings in the morning.

Agree with Imurg, you guys better be straight on here telling us all about it! I have a proper crap day at work tomorrow you jammy g**s.

You also bored at work today Murph? I really can not be arsed to do anything apart from internet shopping / forum.

Love to mate but no, what wedge you looking at, looking at your bag I reckon the Nike SV would fit in great.

Sameebee, uses them to great affect!

Bored isn't quite the word.

Boss is out, MD is out, operations director is out.

Was working on a prototype digtal programmable room thermostat, had one sample, only one in the world, some git stole it over the weekend when I left it on my desk, and now I have the hump.

I have other things to do, but for the moment, any motivation has gone. Can't believe some light fingered git would nick it. I hope it sets his house on fire.

I've had a few swings with the Nike SV and did like it. Trying to stay away from nige gear so I dont look like a tiger wannabe. I hit a few balls with the nike sumo irons and loved them but didnt want to turn up with a yellow and black nike bag, nike sumo rescue and then all nike irons. I feel before you've hit a ball it puts pressure on you as people think you're either handy or a wannabe, not that i care a great deal about what other people think.

I sold my Nike Sumo driver because people i was playing against in medals used to say, wow you cant miss the ball with that, or theres no way you can slice that.... It made a great sound but the ball would travel 100 yds. My 5 wood is much more effective.

So i'm trying to stay away from the top end gear till i get my handicap down to 25 or less. hopefully this will happen through the winter.

Sorry to go off on one.

I am with you on the 'tour' look. It is a bit naff.

Unfortunately my bag has just evolved into just that, being all Titleist in a Titleist bag. As a result, I had to change my Vokeys for something else just to have something in the bag that wasn't Titleist. Even my putter is SC by Titleist.

Will be playing Nike balls on Wednesday, other wise it is even more Titleist.

Wonder if they do tees?

Not a problem mate, I enjoyed it. Have a look at the MD Spin Mild wedges they spin the ball like mad and half the price of all the other premium wedges.

Murph I know what you mean mate, its just coincidence that you are more comfortable with titleist gear, not that you want to look like a tour player. Dont think they make tee's but i'd happily write it on some with a sharpy if it makes you play better?

HTL my mate bought some MD irons last week. I had a swing and they were weighted lovely. I'll try the wedge's this weekend. thanks for the info.
