Golfers you cant stand but cant explain why!

On a slight tangent, there's a guy at my club who I've never spoken to and never heard spoken about, yet for some reason I absolutely detest him. He plays in the roll up that goes out before me every Thursday. Now here's the strange bit, the only reason that I don't like him is that he wears a stupid tartan flat cap with a bobble on top. I really would never tire of hitting that cap with a baseball bat, especially if his head was inside it.

Maybe controversial but I've yet to like a single scottish golfer - can't think of a nice one?

Lyle - miserable
Monty - miserable
Lawrie - miserable
Torrance - miserable but at least he can form a sentence
Can't even remember the name of the one who currently plays in the US - he's miserable too

Miserableness is without doubt a Scottish thing

Was Sandy Lyle miserable? -Maybe when he got cold hands once at the Open. Lawrie is dour, not the same as miserable, Monty can be miserable but is just as often ecstatic, Torrance I've never warmed to so you can have him, Martin Laird isn't miserable at all, no different to Luke Donald for example, just wears a game face.

Are there any pros these days who are a laugh a minute?

Ken Brown claims to be Scottish, he's quite chirpy!

Always thought he looked more like a boxer than a golfer..BUT now that he's one of the "round bellys" and over 50..like me Im warming to him..If he can play the game as well as he still does. with that build then GREAT, hope for me...

Any of the american ryder cup team of 99.

Oh yes and Gary Lineker. Does he count? He plays and I bet he is as irritating and smarmy on the course as he is on the box.

Sounds like a good enought reason to me...:-)

Haven't got much of an opinion, except that, how can you juge someone without really knowing them. I don't dislike any golfer, but enjoy watching their skill.

When I first got into golf it was when David Duval was at the top of his game. Always thought he looked a miserable grumpy sod. How wrong I was, saw him being interviewed last year and surprised to hear how funny and interesting he was.

I bet folk would be surprised at how different their perceptions of golfers are, to what they are actually like.

Of course Chris, I thought we are talking about their ON course personna I'm sure there must be a Scotsman who isn't miserable off the course...... somewhere
