Golf Random Irritations

Course closed today so might be closed tomorrow. Times like this I realise how much I rely on my weekly golf round for mental health - the thought if it being closed tomorrow and unable to play is making me feel sick. It's not been a good week.
Hey..I usually play 80-90 holes per week......I've played 65 this year....I'm dying......

Totally agree. For reasons I won’t go into, my weekly round of golf is my only time I get to switch off from other stuff for a few hours, I’ve come to rely on it. Going for walks, watching football on tv etc doesn’t have the same affect.

We’re closed today and definitely tomorrow. I’m booked to play Sunday, weather’s meant to be ok then, just depends how much rain we get before then and if it drains away. We’re a good draining course but we’ve had non stop rain since Wednesday (as well as how it’s been the last month or so). Fingers crossed.

Course closed again today. V unusual, and with the rain forecast every day for next two weeks with little or no wind…could be closed for a while. We can’t recall the course being closed for multiple days on end due to rain. Snow and frost yes…rain… no.

Wow, sorry to hear that. I'm surprised because I remember you mentioning your course is based on chalk and drains well.

I've managed to have a round every weekend so far this year on my clay based course, so I've been exceptionally lucky. I've not really paid attention to how much it's been closed during the week when I'm at work, but I know it's closed today.

My place has already confirmed closed tomorrow. I've booked Tricky Ricky instead with two mates, in the rain. Sure to be completely hellish.

Yeah. I even went for a walk yesterday because I was going so stir crazy.
Walking alone locally without golf clubs, a dog or any particular purpose is very boring.

100%!

I could walk all day when playing golf, hate the idea of a buggy. Equally walking around a city doing sightseeing, I went to Pompei last year and could have walked round all day (started to annoy my kids lol).

But just going for a walk is incredibly boring.

Just back from a one week trip to uk (so no golf obviously)
Up to the range this morning and swinging like a bloke that's not played in many months
Let's see what tomorrows round has in store...

Edit, and temp going from 1 decree to 35 degrees meant sweaty moobs on the range, very attractive!

I last played 3rd week of November mainly due to course conditions. It was only about 6 - 7 years ago that we never closed the course or had buggy bans.
