Golf Random Irritations

Best lip out I had was putting for birdie from 30 feet, and it came back to me 20 feet.....crazy.

I once had a 10 foot uphill putt that did a horse shoe around the lip and rolled back to me, past where I was standing and finished 20 feet away. Ridiculous pin position, greenkeeper must have taken some criticism that day :ROFLMAO:

Another seniors comp at our place yesterday leaving the front of greens looking like the moon and bunkers full of spikeless shoe footprints with the accompanying pathetic attempts to rake bunkers with their club rather than the rakes provided.

My BiL got my a golf lesson voucher for a nearby 'Family Golf Centre' for Christmas. I gave him better ideas but he knows best . Anyway, today I decided to book a lesson before the voucher runs out. It's all online, I need to register. Shouldn't be an issue.

So far I've been bounced to 3 different websites and am stuck in a circle of being unable to open an account as I already have one, but it doesn't recognise my password and will not let me reset the password. It's rubbish. I can see his teaching diary, lots of gaps. No bloomin wonder if you can't ever get to book .

I had a family holiday last week in Butlins, messing around in the outdoor river rapids and my lad crashes knee first into my ribs, not sure if it's just bruising or a fracture or worse but a week later and I'm still in pain with them. I haven't played golf in two and a half weeks now anyway but now I'm just hoping they will be healed enough for H4H. Just done a few air swings at work and it's not feeling great at all, I'm meant to be playing Saturday morning but I'm going to have to pull out.

All that to say I'll be (hopefully) coming to H4H not having played in a month....

Beware the injured golfer ;)

Just nearly died on the driving range. Three absolute hackers on the far left bays mucking about, one of them duck hooks one - it clatters off a lawnmower or some other machinery that's sitting on the left side of the range, comes flying back at double the speed, misses me in the middle bay by about a foot at waist height - then clatters around narrowly missing another feller as well. No apology is offered, just raucous laughter from the three of them. Shrink the bloody game!

See this is exactly why I always decline when I'm asked to 'join us for a game of paddle' or 'fancy a hill walk' or 'wanna try stand up paddleboard' etc etc etc etc etc

Sure I'm missing out on loads of experiences and memories... but I ain't missing my tee time at the weekend!

Get well soon 🩻🩺💊💉

Thanks buddy.

Also just realised I'm heading to Thorpe Park next Wednesday for my son's 11th birthday, I think I'll just be watching them go on the rides which is super annoying too.

Just completed the yearly trial pf renewing Skycaddie membership.
Had a code, paid my money, got the email confirmation.....now have to activate membership....
Nah....it wasn't having it...tried 20 or 30 times it just wasn't playing ball
On to Support who obviously flicked a switch somewhere...try again they said.
It worked...now Sync your device...
:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
Wouldn't connect to any WiFi network....back onto support...another switch flicked...try again they said..
And it worked......
JHChrist it shouldn't be this hard....every bloody year....
Exhausted now......

So....the index went up to 0.6 today..now sits at 5.3 which gives me a CH of 6.67....or 7 shots should I play a GP card
Stableford tomorrow and the 95% allowance gives me 6.33....or 6 shots....
However...another member who has a PH of 17.41 - 17 shots on a GP card - with the 95% is still going to get 17 shots in the comp as the 95% comes to 16.53...
So....the lowish handicapper is losing a shot from the PH but the higher handicapper retains his PH.....when I thought the idea ofm95% was the other way round.
I must have missed the new WHS definition of fair.........
