Golf Random Irritations

Imo no, not without changing the dynamic of your swing as your heads not normally looking behind you.

I thought the whole idea of the mirror was just to check things with a quick glance at your clubface etc

I just don’t get mirror bays!

If your looking in a mirror your posture has changed and so does your swing.

Better using video on your phone.☎️

I am of an age where there was no video. Using a mirror was commonplace and I used to use the patio window when checking swing positions when in the garden. You are only moving your head.

I just hope you weren't hitting balls in the direction of the patio window

Packable rain hoods for golf bags.
What's the point?
When they're covered in water they hang down over your clubs. You're trying to keep your hands and your glove dry but soak them every time you have to peel the hood out of the way to remove or replace a club.
Didn't they used to be semi-rigid and hold their shape so this was avoided?
Are you better off just not bothering with the hood? Does it really matter if the club heads are wet when you're hitting a wet ball off wet grass?
Might ask MrsA how I could attach some ribs to the hood to make it retain its shape.

I always figured if it was raining heavy enough water would run down the shafts onto the grips, and that was the reason we have the hood on the bag.

I suppose it depends what bag you're using anyway, mine is a fully waterproof bag so it has a proper hood that's the same material as the main bag (and sits pretty stiff like the ones you mention).

Our course gets very wet in the winter, drainage is a constant battle so we get multiple emails from our club banging on about protecting the course in the winter, and not taking a trolley within 10 metres of the green, using mats on certain holes, some of the course having temporary greens, using winter tees on certain holes, certain holes being closed

And then at the bottom of the email…. “All hire and ride on buggies allowed”

They would rather not upset 4 or 5 seniors on their single seat go karts or the panzer division as they are affectionately known than the rest of the membership

It’s possible that the Committee is wary of discrimination if any of the riders are registered disabled. The 2010 Equality Act implies that if the course is open, then it must be made available to all , including any disabled members, unless there is assessed risk of injury solely due to the use the buggies. Protection of the course is not a justification for banning buggies.

We had 12 holes open on Tuesday, collateral damage from the storm, the front 9 plus 3. We played the 12 and then the front again, 21 in total.

For 14 holes I was 2 over par and then from nowhere the wheels fell off, and I could barely hit a ball. Mildly irritating. Today was a reset, except I didn't even have any wheels, hugely irritating.

Tomorrow, at least it will be sunny.

Our flagsticks have a thin, carbon fibre stem on the end that goes into the hole....nice and thin so they rarely trap the ball.
There is a ferrule, very similar to that on a golf club, but turned up the other way to protect the join between the CF and whatever the rest of the pole is made of..
The one on the 8th hole today, by aggression from someone as it's cracked, had fallen into the hole...leaving quite a sharp edge.
I now have a neat slice on the end of my right hand ring finger........Green keeper advised and flag replaced forthwith......
Pain in the ...finger!!

Are you sure no fibres are still in the finger? Very common with carbon composite materials and can lead to infection.

Another one from today....people not preparing pitch marks....on the fringes/approaches.
I know you can't fix any before your shot but some of the canyons I'm seeing...if I wanted to putt and one of those is in the way then my next shot would be from underground...

It's amazing how many members don't repair pitch marks. It's really not hard

We were following a group the other week and we repaired 3 pitch marks per green each..now they can't all be them but they should be repairing them
