No I haven’t, I live in Stockport and really don’t fancy driving to Gainsborough. I was hoping there might be somewhere in the NW area

When you get a lie like this. Couldn't even get my wedge down to ball level as the club was wider than the divot so just had to smash straight down on it. Still managed to somehow get it on the green from about 95 yards.

After much backwards and forwards conversations it seems this is now fixed.Both my phone and my tablet not receiving Club V1 notifications.
I've not changed anything, deleted and reinstalled, checked all the permissions/notifications tabs and nowt.
Only an irritation as I can still see them when I go in the App....but I have to go in the App to see them.
Course status is one that is most useful given the time I usually start if playing solo.
Others I know are still getting them so I'm feeling a bit left out
I'm getting alerts now....everyone else..?

Haven't had anything come through from the club with an update on the course. Hopefully when they are push one out it will appear on the phone. Did you have an update for the Club V1 app or did it just start to work?

They initially said that they'd fixed the issue but they hadn't...
Sent over a ream of software numbers, device id etc etc...
An hour later......
Topped up my bar card and the alert came through.
I suspect they'd messed up the code during an update in the summer...hopefully now all fixed....

Playing in yesterday's stableford, I had a 1ft tap-in putt on a temporary green.
The ball went straight at the hole, then about 3 inches before it got there, turned left, then turned right to end up behind the hole.
This is the first time I've ever seen a ball slalom its way around the hole!

Temp greens are the worst thing about winter golf for me. Not a true reflection on anyone's putting ability when you get a fairway (which is wet mostly) and ball goes everywhere
Better off trying to chip the ball in!

Booked into a sim competition this evening for something a bit different.
Phoned the place earlier to confirm what time I needed to be there as it's just advertised as between 7-10, the guy just said 'no specific time, just come between those times' so I planned to get there for 8.
7.15 I get a phone call asking where I am as the comp starts at 7. I explained the call earlier and he tells me that I'm too late now and they'll have to start the comp without me. Very, very irritating!

Went to the practice field on Monday. Was trying out a tip I got to keep the weight forward when starting my backswing. It was working very well, everything going straight.
Was playing yesterday morning, decided to get there 15 minutes early to get in the groove re the above. Hit 5 or 6 balls on the practice ground, all good.
First hole, hit a decent drive. Set up for the second shot, only thought in my mind was “keep the weight forward”. Hit a terrible shank straight into the trees

Last time I was at the range I was hitting driver probably better than I ever have. Today, I was hitting my irons really well. Then, I tried my driver. Rubbish. Which then broke my iron swing and I couldn't hit them either. I hate this game.
Golf is stupid. As soon as one bit works another goes AWOL except that one round per year when it clicks just to make you believe you know what you're doing
