Luckily it's a very rare occurrence, but will mention it to the GM just to say can it be looked into. Just maybe show us how many slots are available of the 4
That's very peculiar. On our booking system, last club was the same, all 4 slots are open but they are all visible. In your scenario, the 2 guests could add to your booking but they would be doing it knowingly. Booking blind is a strange set up.

Our booking system is good however it has a flaw. Guests can book on without knowing someone's there. And same with members .. so basically I have a 2 ball tomorrow, wanted to add another member couldn't as 2 guests had booked same time
It doesn't sound that good at all.

Yeah it is very odd, sometimes it's easy to spot and you see a completely red booking which you then know ah 4 ball guests booked

They don't like us booking 4 balls of day just me and put down 3 guests lol to block the tee out which is understandable but have done it before when there was a chance 4 of us were coming

If people book out a slot just to prevent others from joining them, that is for the club to manage and deal with. That's a real problem and a real pain. Their solution is clumsy though, and creates an entirely new problem.

Asking a question about golf shoes on the forum and, following a few bum steers in the thread, getting a great suggestion from @Orikoru

Irritation is nowhere has my size 🤬

I found a different model in the same design, and they are not available in my size either - Double Irritation 🤬🤬

Erm, wrong thread?
Not a very golfy picture, or is that the irritation?
Ermm. No. It was in relation above comments about people paying over the odds for merchandise just to advertise the manufacturer. E.g. Golf hats, shirts, whatever festooned with manufacturer's names/logos. Look at F1 drivers/top golfers for instance. Clothing covered in sponsor's advertising - but at least they are getting paid for it. Joe golfer though pays through the nose for the privilege.

I emailed them and the "golf operations manager" (who nobody knows what he actually does) fobbed me off with "it's working as designed"

So a politely worded email replied highlighting that working as designed doesn't mean it's working well.

Granted £20 is too much and I wouldn't pay that for a cap - you can easily get them for £12-15 when reduced though. If you held your cheap one and the branded one in each hand I think you'd notice the difference in material straight away. I like my caps to be the thinnest materials in summer, because they make my head too hot and sweaty otherwise. Can't imagine much worse for that than a cheap cotton hat.
Following on from this, another piece of evidence that everything you post online gets assimilated...

Just got an email from WEDJ Golf (never heard of them).
They are offering me a "spooky deal", one of which is 20% off a golf hat. Coincidence?
Only problem is that their normal price for the hat is £30 :ROFLMAO:

You think that's bad, I was telling my wife (in person, not via text or anything) a story my co-worker told me about his 16 year old daughter buying an Ann Summers outfit and him not being happy about it. Next time I opened my Facebook I suddenly got adverts for Ann Summers outfits via ASOS. Spooky indeed. Walls (and phones) have ears.

On the 5th today, I hit what I thought was a pretty good shot only to see it come up well short. 6th, short drive & PW short, 7th 8th? Same again. I put it down to feeling under the weather.

9th was ridiculous, the drive went nowhere, but the penny dropped with the 2nd shot, the ball cracked completely in half, and it was obvious that the degradation had started much earlier.

The real irritation is that I have been here too often, you would think I would recognise the signs and bin the ball. As I say, I'd talked myself into believing it was me not feeling too clever, so there was that, but still.

The ball? A Wilson Staff Duo Soft from a box of a dozen new ones. It's the 3rd one to crack, those that are left won't get the chance.

Not a good day.

1/ I was rubbish

2/ an extra player joined our usual 3 ball. Known for being slow, our round went from the usual 3 1/2 - 3 3/4 hours to 4hrs 40 😳. What the heck.

3/ I've been effusive in praising my club for it's new winter course. Much better for winter, a better mix of lengths. Happy days. Arrive today to the news that some low h/c have moaned that shortening the course has been a leveller and the manager has capitulated 🤬. The par 4's and 5's are back on full lengths, it's a slog. Rubbish idea, not happy 🤬

A mixed event - Men v Women v Seniors v Juniors. Normal round at our course is 3:40. We were over that just to get to 14 holes with four long par 4s to come. I had lost the will to live. Marking balls three inches from the cup because "it wasn't their turn to putt". Spending an age marking cards by the green whilst I am waiting to tee off on the next hole. Not walking to their own ball, just ambling along to the next one. And there were other groups doing the same. One of them walking straight across my line as I am chipping to the hole and just missing their foot. Trying to hole an eight foot putt and one of them walks next to the hole to mark a pitch mark whilst I am doing it. Unreal. Never again.
