Golf Random Irritations

Our course had 12 holes open the last 2 days now.....others seem to be even worse off. No rain today and tomorrow.....so I'm hoping for at least 14 holes open in the morning.

Match tomorrow - weather rubbish but can’t play today (weather fine) as got kitchen worktop templaters coming early pm to measure up - so tomorrow and wet it is 😟

At least the course is open and mostly dry underfoot.

Last week on Saturday: played the final 6 holes in -2

Last week on Sunday: hit 17 out of 18 greens in regulation

This weekend, first comp of the year; 85, 25 points.
Utterly frustrated. Probably my worst competition round in 30+ rounds.
I snap hooked a driver, I hit 2 shanks, and I couldn’t chip or putt.

It really is a funny old game and it really bites you when you least expect it.

Back on the full course last Friday, due to play hickory with 2 American full time hickory players and another guy. -2 overnight and winter greens. So we didn't bother they came all the way up here for nothing. Mind I did question coming to Scotland in March😉

So true, any time I feel like I'm really getting somewhere disaster strikes!

I lost 7 balls on Sunday in one round :ROFLMAO: 2 on the first hole!!

Course was shut so went to Top Golf instead. Surprisingly found something with driver and hit some pretty straight ones instead of the usual big fade. Fatted the 7 iron and hybrid (lazy swings). Pitching wedge I was hitting purer than ever, just dead straight almost every time. Lost to my mate though who kept hooking his driver nicely into the blue target. :D Ha, I'm kidding, he was genuinely hitting his driver well and getting annoyed that he wasted a good driver day while we weren't allowed on the course.

Front 9 was closed today - because we had a divotting morning!
7 of us divotting the 7 fairways and another 15 working on the badger damage...
The irritation?
How many bloody divots we had to fill:mad:

What an absolutely lovely day today. Only 12 holes open again.....and it was in a lot better shape than it was last week when they had 14 holes open. Too bad the wet stuff is coming back tomorrow. Just hoping the warm temps coming will kick the grass into full speed which will help dry the ground out.....if it stops raining.

We don't have any divots, we've been on mats since November.

I played Seaton Carew last week, they had been on mats all winter but did away with them at the beginning of March. I couldn't believe how many divots there were and wondered why they hadn't waited a few more weeks until things really get growing.
