With our TopTracer its 4 to a bay & gonna double that when they go double decker soon.
Problem is, you will then be paying £££ for your membership, and then to actually be hitting a ball you will have to pay another £££. It's bad enough if I have to pay to practice (normal driving range), I don't know how much it costs to use TopTracer....but I assume it's more than £0 which is what I prefer, and don't have, at the moment.

As I said earlier we have a Trackman studio. It’s £12 an hour for members so yesterday we booked it for 2 hours between the 3 of us, so £8 each. For Trackman that’s an unbelievable deal.

They are also running a summer membership scheme which costs £150 and gives you 1 hour per day until the end of September. Again, an unreal deal for Trackman.

I understand, but I'm old school. I like taking my shag-bag (85-90 balls) out to a field with some cones and hit off various lies....and then picking them up and doing it again. And.....using my old golf balls....free. There aren't too many places I can do that anymore....certainly not at the place I'm currently a member, it's biggest negative for me.

Played Hollins Hall yesterday and it's fully open and only £15. Millionaires golf. Think we saw 2 other golfers on the course. It's a good 30 minutes drive from Batley but there are places fully open.
I was a Hollins Hall member for 18 years. It's a fantastic test of golf, and brilliant value. It's just not a golf club, so I reluctantly left a few years ago to a proper golf club, where the social life is amazing.......and the golf is excellent.
I fully recommend a round there, especially at £15!!

I’m in Yorkshire this weekend having travelled up from Dorset on Thursday to visit my parents. I was hoping to get in at least 18 holes whilst here. So, before packing my clubs I checked the websites of a couple of courses to see if I could get any info. Both were still using fairway mats according to their webpage. My clubs are still on the south coast. According to my wife it is lovely and sunny down there, miserable, cold and cloudy in Batley. 😢

Loads of courses round here that have no restictions mate. Played Willow Valley on Friday night and Dewsbury yesterday - the latter in the better condition. As you'd expect - the greens need improvement and the semi rough is juicy on the courses but nothing to take an issue with.
Crossland Heath and Huddersfield will be in great nick already.

I’m off back to Dorset this afternoon but will be back this way in the summer. I love Dewsbury golf course, my dad used to be a member there until the hills became too much for him. I’ll bring my sticks and maybe we can get a mini meet somewhere.

Absolutely. (y)

It was especially hilly yesterday when I discovered my trolley battery needs replacing after not using it all winter.. 😂

Yes, we've played it for years and enjoy it everytime. Shame they got rid of the pro shop but understand why, kind of! Where are you now?

🤣🤣 It is hilly in places isn't it. Some really nice holes, enjoyed the course and the clubhouse is always welcoming too.

The 2nd is the killer - if they built a bridge level with the tee box across to the fairway they'd take out half of that climb. The 8th off the tee is a drag as well - but apart from that (and the 16th) it isn't too bad. It does make for some spectacular holes when you get to those elevated tees though. (y)

After the 2nd wettest Spring (March - May) in the last 20 years locally, we have just had the second driest summer - just 108mm in 3 months. In 2012 we had 366mm in the same period, that must have been an appalling summer.

We had over 400 mm in August.

Wow, that’s about a half to a just under a third of average annual UK rainfall. Where do you live and have you had major floods?
It's the local rain gauge station rather than our course. But it's the closest to us in Muirshiel park in the West of Scotland.
No real flooding it's a wet area anyway.
