Game Tomorrow

Was supposed to be playing this morning but woke up to white everywhere outside.

Quite impressed that by 7 o'clock the clubs website had been updated to say the course was closed.

Happy it's off after standing outside to have a ciggy and was freezing in 2 minutes.

Was due to play a winter league match against Easengrace and Jacetheace but we called it off yesterday. Its laid thick overnight and is still snowing as I type. Course wont be open for a while now methinks :(

Ahh, I remember the great snows of 2010. Worst in 30 years they were. No golf for 2 months and it lasted through to April. We probably won't get anything like that for another....

...hang on a minute!!!!!

We've had what you might a light dusting.
Still frozen solid but I bet there's some out if the course is open. Different to yesterday - a really cold breeze today.
And it's only going to get colder.

Was forecast clear with cloud and cold for today, no snow. Woke this morning to just under an inch, course closed. We are as far inland as you can get in the midlands!

Been snowing in the north east on and off since late wedensday night. Luckily i made the most of it last week and got 3 rounds in before the snow came.

Snowed here heavy last night and been having heavy snow showers on and off all day today and theres a good 4-5" and it looks like it's set to stay well into next week.

Looks like a day in the pub today and sat infront of the tv tomorrow watching the last day of the race to dubai.

Hopefully more tomorrow too, there was a tiny drop of hail during the night and apart from that, our course was fine but had some temp greens on the go.
18 holes tomorrow, fingers crossed it isnt frozen as it is our winter societies presidents day and there is grub, prizes and alcohol afterwards.

The course is open albeit on temps but can't be bothered playing half distance on some holes and not having any element of control due the frozen ground. Another range session tomorrow with the I15's I think

Not a chance........although we havent had much falling snow today, the ground is covered with about 2-3-inches since Wednesday night, and with a nice covering of frost. So it wont be tomorrow, and unless there is a substantial thaw, it wont be for a while..(Bah!!!)

Course was open, full tees and greens but not really playable with the frost........and.....I just found the best ever use for the V-Easy!!!! :D

It makes a fantastic swisher to clear the light snow accumulation on the green when you are putting. Just lay it horizontal and use a light side to side flicking of the wrist motion to clear a path.

The results speak for themselves:

Front 9 no swish with the V-Easy = 11 points

Back 9 using the V-Easy new patented snow clearing action = 17 points.

Mind you it would have been even better if the green staff had done it with their proper gizmo before we started!! :D
