Fee's for 2008

hi guys.

well i am a young junior of 15. So still quite a way (in my eyes)till im 18.

In return to your question par_par_par_treble. My club does operate a sliding scale. Gradually increases from 18 to 26, where full adult fee's are introduced.

My club also operate's and has a thriving junior section. Has spent alot of money improving the junior section and regulary holds trophy tornuments and roll-ups.

I myself play of 22. Sure that will change when i get my custom fitted di7's. Can hit 220 with my Cobra M-speed LD. Not bad for a small boy of 5'6

May i wish a good weekend's golfing

Liam

I live in Bracknell. Which part of Kingston you in. I use to live on the High Street in the flats next to Pizza Express for a while. I'm originally from Wimbledon but worked in Kingston for years.

I'm sure we can sort something out for the trip. Where do you play golf

I suddenly feel quite lucky, we pay £195/yr for a full membership - great value. If I had to pay £1000/yr I would be looking for a new hobby.

i cant beleive it!!!
next you will be telling us your the crazy golf champ at your local!!

Rural Scotland = low population = low demand for memberships = low fees, but fab courses and play when you want basically.
This level of membership is normal up here, get closer to Edinburgh/Glasgow/Aberdeen/Dundee however and you will get the £1000 treatment!

When I started back into golf last year I had to fork out 1400 joining fee (twice membership) plus 700 annual fee.
Saying that we can see where our money is going though.
Ou 8th green was lifted at the end of the season to get rid of the clay and fit proper drainage under it and relay it, keeping the two tiers etc. Last year the same was done to our 18th the only other hole on the course that suffered drainage problems recently. More drainage was installed between the 16th and 1st holes as it did get a little mush in deepest winter, this should remedy this too.
The only area needing real work now is the inside of our clubhouse, its a little too 60's for my liking.

not sure what the season ticket will be next year but they have just advertised 16 months for 12 if you start this december (it was 15 for 12 last year). shame I can't start again!

Lordy! Good value, thebelgie24.

Mine is £47 per month.

If I play once a week I like to think of it as £0.15 per shot !! Who says three- putting is expensive? Actually, it's cheaper.

Can I pay an extra £7 a month and play at yours John?

Some of us (not you J_F) are forgetting that £1000 per year is a serious bargain if you play once a week on a real beaut!!

I was "encouraged" by the ex-Captain of a club around here to join. I couldn't see myself spending the £850, when I can play on a quite good course for half that. If it had been the best in the area, I would have bitten his arm off, and slipped him a pony or two for his support.

Now we're in my territory - economy golf! £37 a month dd - playing up to 4-times a week in summer and struggling to break the ton - can't get much cheaper.

Birdieman

That is an amazing fee :eek:where do you Play?

I play Ballater, Aberdeenshire - holiday course really, they get a lot of visitors and corporate groups so the rough is kept in check (too much I'd say), very picturesque, quite flat, parkland running along the River Dee, par 70, sss 69. Course record 61, my best is 68. First 6 play toughish, get through that and you should be able to make a score, greens can be pretty slick, not a long course by any means but enjoyable, sociable and easy to get on the tee when you want. No complaints other than tighten up the fairways and let some rough grow please committee.

Just had a look on the website Birdie, looks very nice. Sorry but the bad news is your fee's have gone up to £2oo a year. now i could aford that but it would take me 14hr to get there and back.

Yeah well said Doh Im currently a 21 year old student and will graduate when im 22 so that makes me a full paying member before i even have a job, i wont be able to pay 1000 a year to play golf i only just started to be able to afford golf clubs and a few rounds a year. There should be some method of that over 25 do pay more because they are earning more in the stats and its stats that count. Also seniors should pay exactly the same as they play on the course much more and block up tee times for when i take time off work to have a game in the short day light days. Some of us do have to work while other are out plaing golf 3-4 times a week. Also are generally slower at playing. Yes you have people who play faster than younger people but its numbers that count and it proves it. Sorry im doing maths based degree so always number critical sorry : )

£89 per month at my club, The Celtic Manor. This is for two courses, The Roman Road and the new Montgomerie. The joining fee was £250. It is a lot more to join the Twenty Ten course (Ryder Cup course) £3000 joining and another £3000 per year fees. Includes the other two courses. (And having been around the Twenty Ten, it'll cost you about twenty quid a round in balls.)

A 35 year old is more likely to earn more than a 25 year old but that isn't necessarily the case. It just seems a very arbitrary way of charging people and I'm sure any relatively low-earning 35 year olds would be very unhappy about it.

And the said 35 year old will more than likely have a lot more outgoings than a 25 year old, ie mortgage , 2.4 kids :o, flowers for the wife for something only she knows you've done wrong :D
