Hi All,

Since I'm getting married in April, the suggestion of Tartan Kilts cropped up which I quickly quashed.

But it got me thinking and I've found a Tartan and crest for 'Irving' but this didn't take long and it may or may not be accurate.

Has anyone done their family tree and is there a free way of doing it? everywhere I look wants money and I'm not keen as it comes out of my Golf fund.

Does anyone have any suggestions or access to such records

I would let Mrs Imurg loose but you'd probably get bored to death. She's big into Genealogy but I just don't see the attraction in dead people - but then she doesn't get golf so......

Why did you quash the idea? Wearing the kilt (they are all tartan) is guaranteed to get you totally pissed and/or laid. Frequently just the former, unfortunately, but surely at least one or preferably both should apply on you wedding night ?
